Cleaned and Cleaned Some More Today

I splurged and ordered myself a floor lamp from amazon with some of my gift certificate money. I was so tired of this bulky big shaded lamp that has been by my desk for the last 5 years. The shade was always in my way! From there I went on to cleaning in the bathroom.....I also ordered a new litter box for the front bathroom. The smell in the bathroom was horrendous. I finally figured out it was because the litter box was leaking underneath. It's a nice day out so I also washed a super large load of laundry from the huge pile in the utility room and hung them on the line to dry. And, the usual of unloading and reloading the dishwasher. I had quite a messy living room to clean after babysitting the other 3 grandkids overnight too. Whew!! Then.................... I sat down and said I was done with housework for the day, but little did I know. One granddaughter said she felt like she was going to puke....that she did...all across the living room, through the hall, all over the toilet and clear across the bathroom to the bathtub.......sigh......Good thing I hadn't dumped out my bucket of Pine-Sol yet and I had plenty of rags. (yep, I know, this part was TMI!!) I hope that now I finally can relax for the rest of this day.

@celticeagle I have many issues with him as I'm sure he does with me...we co-habitate.

Boy that sure is the truth! Hubby knew what kind of day I had and he just went right in after work and fixed our supper.

Oh no, that means everyone is likely to get it. I just read somewhere that if you are exposed you should drink grape juice several times a day as it will kill the bacteria or virus that causes it. I do not know that for sure though.

@marsha32 Ginger ale, or ginger tea or just plain ginger is good for it too. Drink lots of water and such to hopefully wash the germs out. I hope you do not get it.

@GardenGerty I tossed and turned all night so finally just got up...a lot earlier than I wanted to. Now it's just after 10 am and I am already ready to go back to bed. I'm running through a huge email of notifications from mylot in hopes of yet to get this last 25 cents that I need to cash out. I also just put in a new post to help.

I should have already known that and I would have had Liz pick some of that up when she went to get milk. I sprayed the disinfectant right away, but yes, now I am scared of getting it as I just do not have time to be sick.

@marsha32 I was just imagining this, as I know you have real issues in that area.

@GardenGerty It's not near as bad as it used to be and the only thing that really bothered me ever, which still does, is the fear of ending up sick myself.

Her daddy was already here to take her to his house. At first he said he wasn't if she was sick but he did. He's reported that she's gotten sick more since leaving. I hate to say it, but glad she is over there. I handled it ok cleaning it up....a lot better than I have in the past!

I still have some cleaning to do before New Year's Eve celebrating. Too bad you had to clean again. What made your granddaughter ill? Is she alright?

@marsha32 Or she ate something with someone that had not been stored properly. I always got a stomach bug at least once a season from Thanksgiving through New Year, until I moved away and quit going to those family feasts where the food sat un refrigerated for too long.

I'm guessing the stomach bug. I was hoping we were past the bug season, but apparently not.

@GardenGerty The only thing she had was a glass of milk and potato chips before getting sick.....and that is what she got sick.....nothing that she ate from the day before.

@just4him Now I've decided it will be tomorrow to take it down since Sunday is a shorter "work" day for me with church and my long nap.

Sounds like you've been busy. Sometimes I dread cleaning but once it's done Im much happier and more relaxed. Im thinking about getting some new cat boxes for our kitties maybe the kind that has the top on them because I have one arnery one that is forever kicking liter out the box I think she does it on purpose, lol.

Yes, our oldest cat always kicks the litter out of the box...and he also chooses to use the smallest litter box of the 3 in the house too.

I think most of us have had the same experience with a child or grandchild, I always take them seriously when they feel like it and grab a garbage pail, it sure can help. I hope she feels better now!!

@marsha32 She is actually old enough to go get her own bucket. Just assign one and give it a place.
