Happy New Year

I know for some of you it is already the second day of 2017. For me it is still New Year's Day and I hope you all had a good start to the new year, and have a good year ahead. I know it is common for people to make resolutions for the new year. Are you one such person and what are your resolutions? I don't normally make resolutions, though last year I tried short term resolutions and for the most part it worked. One such that didn't work was to get my book, Freedom's Cry finished. I wanted it done by Christmas. However, as much as I wanted it, my words failed me, so I started a new one, hoping I would have words once again, and I'm happy to say, my words seem to be back and I even have ideas to proceed with Freedom's Cry. So that will be one of my resolutions for this year once again - to finish this novel so I can proceed to publication. A resolution I do have that has worked for me is losing weight. I joined the YWCA in July and started going faithfully in August as soon as I had my first swimsuit. I suffered one setback due to medical reasons and gained back what I lost, all but five pounds and have now lost another two so I can start this year on a positive note. Those are my resolutions carried over from last year. This year I have just one resolution to add - a closer walk with God. Adding to that would be to be happy with who I am. Those are my resolutions. If you have any for 2017 please tell me in the comments below. Thanks for reading.

That is great. I have learned that small goals made privately seem to do better for me. If I go on about them too much they don't seem to work for me.

Happy New Year, @just4him! I always said I'll save money, but never accomplished it for decades. I used to buy expensive gadgets, clothing, shoes, etc. I'm proud to say I have been saving money and investing in stocks since 2013. I hope this will continue as I have strong will now. Good luck on your new novel. I envy you for I can't write any. I'm not gifted like you. I'm happy for you.

Thank you and I hope you continue strong with the stock market. I've never had money to invest, so I'm glad for you that you are able to do that.

Happy new year to you! Good luck with your resolutions! I seldom make resolutions as I am so bad at keeping them--but your health is important, so that seems like a good one for you to hang in there with

Happy New Year, Wishing you much success with your Writing. I used to have a book started myself and need to get back into it, as I would really Love to be a published author someday. As to the weight issue, keep your desire and find ways to make it happen. Sounds like you are ready to attack 2017 head on

I wrote up a little post on some of my goals. It doesn't really feel like a new year to me.

I hope you do it. I swim everyday, or when the Y is open so I can swim. Tomorrow is our federal holiday for New Year's Day because it fell on a Sunday this year, so the Y isn't open.
