I drove my car home

That sounds like I got drunk at a bar and still was able, sort of, to drive home. I am a bit drunk, I guess, with happiness. It is dangerously cold today BUT there is sunshine. Lovely sunshine. And clear roads. Snow is where it should be: in the fields and off the roads. Roommate had no problem driving the ten miles to town. I decided it was my turn to sit behind the wheel of my car and actually drive the darned thing!! Our driveway road still has deep snow drifts. I kept the car moving slow but sure and we got through the thick clots of snow and up to our front wooden gate. All this week the temps will be insanely cold but no new snow. Yay us!

I would much rather have the cold than the snow. The really cold temps do come with sunshine, and I sure do prefer that over all the slipping and sliding while driving due to snow-filled roads. We are getting the really cold temps too.

@Corbin5 I sure am glad there is now a warming station for folks down on their luck- at least for a few hours they can be out of the weather if they want.

@sallypup Winter is just such a brutal season for humans to endure.

I'm jealous for the sunshine! We've had grey skies and rain for two days now. While we do have some snow in the forecast in a day or so, I just want to see the sun for a little bit. Just to know for sure it's still up there!

@CRK109 If we move West we'll have to get used to more rain and gray skies. I hope you do not get snow.

@sallypup I wouldn't mind a little snow. It was in the 50's today so all we have is puddles from the rain. Of course, everyone else around here grumbles about snow. I just love sitting in the windows up here and looking at it! That's the little kid in me! lol

@CRK109 If I could just sit and look at snow then I would not mind it. Right now the white stuff is quite scary and annoying to me.

Boy, I'd be under a huge feather bed if it was that cold here. Thankfully, it's in the 50s today. How long are your winters?

@rebelann Great question. It depends. We had a long rainy autumn until the end of November. Right after December started so did gunk and freezing gunk. This should start easing up by February though I wouldn't plant anything until maybe March?? Like peas and lettuces that are hardier. May would be a better month for planting.

It's really different from our desert @sallypup I plan to start putting seeds out soon if we don't get a winter this year, if I wait til may the seedlings would fry in the heat.

@rebelann We have a sitution like that in the summer. I can't get green beans to grow cause it gets too hot for them. If a person doesn't water and water each and every day during July and August things just dry up. I wish you luck on growing things. I like to watch the seedlings pop up.

I guess maybe take ten minutes each day and try and free up more space in the driveway? I gotta get out tomorrow and get our sidewalks cleared

@Jessicalynnt The snow ice is packed like cement on the driveway. Our Toyota putt putt drove right over and through the stuff. Got to love the little cars.

We have snow on the ground. Had had blue skies the last few days but today it is rather grey. We are to have colder weather for several days. I hope it does't last. Glad you made it home okay and will continue to.

We don't have any snow here yet and there is none in sight for at least a week. We are suppose to have heavy rain tonight. I am happy with no snow.

@Happy2BeMe There's talk of more snow at the end of this week. We've had some snow since the first week of December.

That's good that you were able to drive. It is a very good think to be drunk with happiness. It doesn't happen often enough for most of us. :)
