Because I frequent downtown areas, I deal with a lot of panhandlers. I've been asked for the usual spare change, beer, cigarettes, and a hug when I told the guy I didn't have any money. I've even been asked for ten bucks from a greedy panhandler. Today was a new one, however.
As I walked back from the liquor store, a guy asked me if I had any spare weed. I told him the truth, that I had left it at home. I don't bring it with me because even though it's legal in Colorado, it's illegal to use it in public. The guy's response? "I'll wait here while you go get it." There was not an ounce of facetiousness or mirth in his voice. He was Serious.
I wouldn't have given him anyway. I get member discounts at my Medical Marijuana Dispensary, but I still can't afford to give it away, especially to someone I've never seen before.
It was, however, one of the more interesting encounters I've ever had with a panhandler.

Why ask for spare change when you can ask for five or ten dollars? That's the type of can do spirit that made this country great!

That is to funny and I always loved people who could be blunt like that. I never could do that. I hate asking people for anything.
