what is it with people touching long hair?

i realize hair to the hip nowadays can be somewhat rare in places in this country..but that does not give folks a right to walk up and touch it.
yes,it's all my hair.
please don't "ding" my ponytail like a frickin bell cord when you want my attention.
no,you can't touch it.how do i know you washed your hands today?
"is that all your color?" i'm 47.take a wild guess.
"can i braid it" no.
maybe i should start charging these people a buck to touch it.
with gloves...poop factor,y'know.
yuck.

believe it or not,i've had a couple tell me i'm "too old" for long hair.

Wow, what the heck, after a certain age you're supposed to chop all your hair off? I don't get that. I usually keep my hair a little past shoulder length, but I'm kind of jealous you've been able to grow your hair long and keep it that way. Always wanted super long hair, but it's too much work. I would admire yours but never dream of touching it though.

@scarlet_woman Long hair fascinate me as well. I appreciate them but never went that far to touch them, on a strangers head . I hope people should realize this.

Wow, how can people be that rude? I like my personal space, and that definitely includes not having strangers touch me, they'd be lucky not to get slapped if they did that to me! LOL. (It's a reflex, really, I've almost hit friends who snuck up on me and touched me. ) Really, hands off, unless you're a friend, and maybe even then.

I have a long hair too and One of my family friend likes it very much. He is like my grand father. Whenever he sees my hair he used to pull it and play ... :-)

My hair used to be 35 inches long. I finally had my daughter cut about 30 inches off. I would keep it in a braid and it would get matted. I think that you should start charging people. Put a scarf on your head and a sign over your shoulder saying so much to see long hair. Haha

I had long long hair at School in plaits and our School Teacher used to have a walking stick and hook my plaits one by one with the stick and let them bounce back again
I was a good sport and laughed and so did everyone else too.
It must be a bind to have people doing that to you yes.
I would charge them if they keep doing it.

They have no right, for me that's harassment. Maybe some ones face needs to be slapped if some one's hair get's touch. They should asked permission, you never know what they will put in you hair.
