You dropped my onion rings! Not worth $35 for burgers!

I have been craving a burger from Burger Lounge for awhile now the first time we ate there at a different location, it was delicious & service was superb. What we ate: - 1/2 Fries, 1/2 Onion Rings - "Grass Fed Bison" - Pickled Onion, Gorgonzola, Garlic Aioli - "The Classic" - American Grass-Fed Beef, Lounge Bun, Organic American Cheese, Organic Ketchup, Mustard, Chopped Onion and I opt out Pickles and added Applewood Smoked Bacon for extra - Housemade Lemonade with Lavender Mint However, we were pretty disappointed with the food & service we experienced this evening. For $35 which is pretty steep for just burgers, onion rings/fries + lemonade & you'd think you get fine dining right? Nope! The guy who carried out our food dropped the onion rings on our table, then he used his hands to pick it up and put it back on my plate and said ENJOY...... My boyfriend was upset and voiced his opinion. He responded by telling us the tables are clean, but regardless your hands just touched money and excuse me - we paid how much? The food wasn't even all that great nor appealing. Not only that but the condiments aren't available within reach, you have to ask the employees for ketchup and they're the tiny cups where you cannot even dip your onion rings. Overall, we were very disappointed and won't be returning to this location!

I don't blame you for not wanting to return there. That's expensive and him touching your food like that was gross.

@infatuatedbby ......I laugh about bottomless fries. Their burgers are good. I used to always order the salmon bites. Yummy!

@celticeagle They no longer have the salmon bites! I heard it's pretty good. You're like the 3rd or 4th person that has told me that. I always opt for garlic fries with extra garlic! I love me garlic!

I usually go to Red Robins and the burger I typically get is $11 bucks, my boyfriend likes their gourmet line & I think it's $15 but its bottomless fries.

35 dollars is a huge sum to pay for burgers. 35 dollars are equivalent to around Rs. 2500/- With this amount a whole family of 4 could be fed with a 3 course meal.

Yeah, the exchange is different. It's the quality of the meat used as well.

I would have definitely made him take it back and get me new onions. There is no way I would have eaten the onion rings once he picked them up with his hands. Regardless of the price that is unacceptable in any restaurant.

Yes you're right! I wouldn't mind too much if there was an abundance of onion rings and he dropped it but since there are only 6, and he dropped 3... because I bought half of fries / onion rings, I sure did want my new onion rings!

If that is what they do in front of you, imagine what they do in the kitchen where you can't see. There are few reputable restaurants here where they say hygiene is the top priority but that too is just a commercial line. They are no different than any other restaurant. But one can't avoid restaurants these days.

@infatuatedbby I used to enter the kitchen in places where I worked and in all of them I can say the condition was disgusting. The side visible by the costumers always looks nice. But I don't think that I need to get into details of what I saw as you wouldn't enjoy reading that.

You should email their corporate headquarters and let them know how disappointed you were with the food and service at that location. At the very least you will probably get some coupons or a gift card for a free meal. My wife and I once complained about being skipped by the hostess while waiting for a seat and then being told by said hostess we were not the next in line and should stop lying. She was fired, and we got a tour of the restaurant, kitchen and all, as well as a free meal, courtesy of corporate HQ.

I didn't want to go to the hassle but next time I'll flag down the manager and let them know how our experience was. I wouldn't want someone to lose their job, but hopefully by telling them they should fix their habit.

@DWDavis Oh I see! The spot I went is newly opened so perhaps the staff isn't aware of dealing with this situation yet. They just constructed and opened late last year. But I'm glad you were able to help with the firing process of someone whose been warned multiple of times I am sure of and lying too.

@infatuatedbby From what the manager of the restaurant told us when we went back, our complaint was the last straw against that particular hostess. Others had fussed to him about her, and even some of the employees complained to him about her, but our email to corporate HQ couldn't be overlooked and he was finally able to let her go. We always had great service there after that. I think the wait staff loved us for helping get rid of their wicked witch.

Definitely not good service! I did follow him for my new onion rings. The table behind us was served salad and they lady served dropped utensils and went oops! I'm not sure if she went to get new ones! I'm really disappointed with the service and food. I went here last time in Downtown and the quality was much better & appealing + superb service.

Any restaurant that drops food on the table or handles my food with their hands deserves to be reported to the BBB. I would have demanded to speak to the owner.

@infatuatedbby - I'd also be wary of going back because employees are a good indication of how they are treated and cared for by those in charge of them. If management don't care, why should the lowly hourly minimum wage employee.

Maybe that qualifies for a report with the Health Department in your city. That is a violation of proper food handling.

Although I do think they cook with their hands like assembling the food and what not, but the people handling the food - I would assume is clean because they have to cook the food raw, etc! But, the server was also the cashier and I did not see him wash his hands from the time he took cash and brought the food, so??? He assured the tables clean, as they wipe down after everyone eats. Sure but I also wiped down the table prior too with my own wipes. We were utterly upset. And funny thing was I only asked for three onion rings he dropped, it wasn't like I asked him to remake me an entire batch, even SO it is common curiosity to replace or accommodate us with the inconvenience considering the price we are paying!! And we even tipped to round the amount when we paid (which was before we got the food, like $1 and some change which clearly would be better for donation then them!) Sorry for my rant!

Around here since they now have to pay everyone $11 an hr as that is the New approved minimum wage, the Service has become horrible. We get Cold food, too hard of food, have to ask for more sauce, etc. And when you complain no one not even the manager seems to care. Where did Good Customer Service go too?

I would not spend that kind of money for burgers and fries, but then again I don't eat them LOL. We went to our local place two days ago and my husband had a pulled pork sandwich and fries and I had a special order grilled chicken sandwich and a baked potato and we only spent $12 (not including drinks).

@AbbyGreenhill The food sure is heavenly then! Not fast food pulled porks, but a decent sandwich shop the cheapest I'd fine is $10 and thats not even sure it comes with a side! I think you've attached a photo of your husbands meal, yours I'm not sure.

@infatuatedbby Yes, and they make the grilled chicken special for me on a special bread...they joke they will name it for me LOL. I take lots of food photos - this is Heavenly Cafe. Not sure if I have a photo - I'll look....Can't find one right now.
