1959 – Buddy Holly had tragically died and Coral Records released one of the songs he had recorded before his death. The song was “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore”. Can you imagine how the title of this song now became sort of ironic after his death? 1960 = Marty Robbins released his successful single “El Paso” which went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Country and Western Recording. 1980 – KC and the Sunshine Band had a number one single with “Please Don’t Go”. http://www.classicbands.com/day/january%205.html
