Who has the problem?

If you take time to read what others respond and comment on the discussions here on myLot, you might get an insight into their life offline too Fun people on here will be fun people offline too? Grumpy people on here will be grumpy people offline too? Can people fake on here? I doubt it and I guess that the fun people create a problem for the grumpy people here just like they do offline too Never mind... There is a lot of stuff offline to make anyone grumpy but not everyone lets it get under their skin. In the same way, there are a lot of people who come here for distraction from everyday stress, just like they go for a walk in the park or a ride at the playground... I know why I come here... and I don't have a problem...

Drat, so you know what a miserable old fool I really am.

@mysdianait That proves my point because I have not had a holiday all year.

Who has a problem? Everyone? And no one. :) Everyone has a problem of some sort right now this minute, big or small online or offline. And on the grand scheme of things, no one has a problem

I absolutely agree! Some have problems that they will never admit to having though and that becomes obvious when they see/read what others are doing/saying here.

I also agree. When you put different people together there always be different opinions. It would be insincere to suggest that a site is free of problems where everyone is happy all the time.

@Drosophila Problems are never really problems indeed... unless we want them to be so.

I guess I come across as a funghi on here, but offline I am less so. The interaction with some myLot members at times can often act as a pick-me-up for the days I am feeling a bit down in the dumps. Which isn't often and I bet you never knew that. Or did you?

Did I know what? That you sometimes feel down in the dumps or that it doesn't happen often? I think that mylot is a huge pick-me-up and cheaper than a lot of medicines. Indeed they pay us to be here

I'm here for the money. It's the real me, all the time, except that I'm really shy offline. I like to take my time to type off my thoughts, with no rush or anxiety.

I can understand how it is easier online as you don't have to rush but, if it helps, with time shyness disappears. I know

And how many times have you heard that 'the amount of money you make here' isn't worth it? (if you're working with 'multiple income-streams,' it MIGHT be worth it; but ... I think my conscience is 'too sensitive' to get too far into that without feeling like I were "cheating.")

Same goes for offline. You know no-one who has a huge home, a big car, holidays every year and whatever else, thinking that people will think they are rich but all they have is a huge overdraft at the bank? MyLot keeps me out of mischief too

@katsmeow1213 I was sometimes grumpy when I was younger. Then I read somewhere that frowns make wrinkles that grow downwards and a smile makes wrinkles that go upwards. I thought about that a lot at the time and forgot about being grumpy

Yes indeed, there is everything here just like offline. Some are real and pou out stories about their whole life while others are less inclined to share but the underlying attraction I find is indeed the fun!

@Madshadi Very often indeed, even though many seem to think that is not the case at all. As I said in another comment, our words are like footprints in the sand and unique to whoever is leaving them

@mysdianait Sometimes you can guess someone's personality just by reading his/her posts, even if no personal details have been shared.

I do not think that people here are different from real life. The grumpy ones are surely grumpy also in real life, same for the complainers. People can fake their identities, but when they write, their real inner soul comes out.

My thoughts exactly! People leave themselves in the words that they write, in the same way that they leave their footprints in the sand when they walk on the beach

@Bluedoll Withholding information is different from hiding, or trying to hide, the real character - which will show through in time anyway.

I look at this as not hiding ones character but withholding information. Not that I am against people giving out their information. That's wonderful. But it is a choice we are allowed to make?

I can relate. There are things I will share here I will never share on Facebook because I am tired of their judging me and calling me names etc everytime I turn around. Plus if I am having an issue Health wise why share it on Facebook 24/7 and have people wanting to not follow me anymore? Even here I am not going to be one to share my dirty underwear daily and never have anything good to want to talk about.

yes I agree that most people are honest here. Then there are those who think that they are being honest but in their words, and with their attitude, their real character shows that they don't really think like they are trying to make us believe that they do. That shows over time if we read them long enough.
