Earwax actually protects our ears

I've read this article in yahoo detailing that the gross looking ear wax inside our ears were actually meant to protect our ear canal from outside threats. But you need to clean it every once in a while, at least once in a week will do. But it's too late for me, because I'm half deaf now because of excessive ear cleaning. Then I realized it has also happened to mom as well which is why she's deaf too. I could still hear from my other ear but it's very low. I wanted to buy hearing aide but it's extremely expensive. Maybe I should start learning sign languages.
It’s official: It’s time to stop shoving things in your ears. (And that goes for ear candling, too.)

Its strange to hear that cleaning your ear made you lose your hearing power. Did you overdid it?

@Letranknight2015 Is that what you think or has a doctor told you that this is the reason?

Yes, ear wax is good for your ears, but excessive ear wax hinders hearing and needs to be gotten rid of in a manner that will not harm your ears. I'm sorry you and your mom are almost deaf because of excessive ear cleaning.

I thought her being almost deaf was because of age, turns out she was doing it the same I did. But she did warned me from time to time, just didn't realize how dangerous it was @just4him until i got deaf on the other ear.

I go to my ear, nose and throat doctor every few months and he cleans out my ears. I also have ear drops if I feel something funny in my ear that I use.
