I respect other religions. But I don't like the practice of Catholic Church about feast of the Black Nazarene. January 9 tomorrow is feast again. Media will cover the occasion. I just see many issues about this celebration. People crowd the street and act wild during the occasion. They need to push everybody around to get near the statue. I think it's needless since they can touch the image anytime or some other day they want without getting wild and out of control. There are sea of people stressing themselves. I don't believe in images because we need to pray to God in spirit not in using images. Why the need to put themselves in danger being suffocated and crush during procession. I don't know why the priest does not correct this wrong practice. They don't show respect to the image sometimes they can drag the image down with too much pulling and touching. Poor image of Jesus. He could be very stress of what people is doing to him during this occasion.

Imagine 22 hours? Don't they get tired and hungry? But they think they do that sacrifice to please God

It's in the bible not to worship images but no one is correcting them because the catholic church is blind

The people are unruly and like crazy jumping the platform of the image. Lots of people are injured or loss consciousness

I've never heard of that feast. I agree with you. I don't have anything to do with images. God said not to have them in your home or in the synagogue. The Catholic Church is loaded with them.

We remove all images too when we became Christian. We just have memory verses on our walls

@averygirl72 The most I have is a manger scene for Christmas. I also have sayings. I don't have Bible verses on any of those plaques.

This sounds very irreligious really. I'm sure God would not want such things happening.

But they think they are religious and devoted to God but if you watch it people jump on the platform and they have no discipline. You're right God is not happy with riot like this one.

@averygirl72 I agree completely. Some are very rude and not a bit 'Christian' in their behaviour.

That sounds like a feast that should be gotten rid of.

Even if I am a Roman Catholic, I am not in favor of what these people are doing. They can devote their time and efforts in other ways not through this.

Yeah they can devote their time on something more useful and good than doing this

Hi!! I just want to say I totally love your opinion. It's similar to how I feel and my grandmother always taught me the difference of images and not using images.
