Forced Vacation

As a lot of you know I am working for an agency. Unfortunately we've hit a dry spell and I didn't get any shift this week and it's ending soon so I'm on forced vacation. Which is actually good if only I am not broke. But to maximise my time off I'm doing school work. Keeping myself busy and more I control.

That's what President Duterte promised . End those with ENDO contracts . Good thing you go to school again . Why , have you not finished college yet ?

@SIMPLYD this time I'm paying it by myself. So I'm living the broke life. But I'm proud of my achievements.

The same with one of my daughters. Her contract with her agency also ended so she is hunting for a new job now...She's lucky because she really prepared for it and has enough earnings to spend while having no job..

Dry spell due to vacation goers now coming back from vacation. Mostly work picks up at winter time.

@magallon I will get more shifts and bookings yes. But I'm planning to apply for other jobs if I get my residency.

You are able to turn down side to keeping yourself busy with school work =) Hopefully work picks up for you! At my last employer we'd have 3 weeks mandatory at the end of the year for company shut down. You had to use your own hours or you just don't get paid.

@LadyDuck Thank you Anna. I'm taking this as a challenge. But I'm really hoping for some kind friends to lend me money.

@flapiz Yes I know, as soon as the money stops coming in, financial problems pile up. Good luck.

At least you are working through it and figuring out how to handle the situation you are put in. I hope everything turns out alright for you.

The ironic thing is, if you didn't need the money so badly, there would have been plenty of work and no forced vacation. But since you are broke, of course they make you take a forced vacation. That's life, unfortunately.

Exactly right! Like there are times when you don’t need money but badly need a vacation but they won’t grant it. And then when you need money the most they give you a vacation. Gosh.

I thought nursing and other jobs were in abundance in Australia because some of my daughters' friends in NZ moved to Australia saying the pasture there was greener.

Well not when you are casual. It’s unpredictable. Sometimes you are overworked and sometimes you got none.

@sunrisefan Not as easy in Perth. Too many competition and also I was not a resident and I’m a fresh graduate.

@flapiz I see but I understand that you're a registered nurse so you would have easily been hired as a regular medical staff.
