Fill on a half , winter wisdom -
As winter has settled in on us I find that it is wise to fill my car's gas tank when it's hits a half. Not only is this easier on your fuel pump - it also prevents situations like the following. -- I had been lazy, it was cold outside and my car was down to running on fumes. Finally I pulled in to a gas station. I fit the fuel door release, and was getting ready to put gas in and low and behold... the fuel door wouldn't open. I tried for a few minutes at the pump and then realized I must look crazy. I pulled away tried so many things, the fuel door release inside the trunk, prying in it with a pocket knife, keys and other assorted items, pounding on it. Nothing helped. So I made it home and my dad and I worked on it. The cold had frozen the spring release shut. We got it, finally my wedging a knife in there and doing some slight modifications. However if you fill on a half at least you will have enough gas to get to where you're going incase you should befall something like this.

Yeah, I did that once when we first moved here. I didn't know any better.
