I Have Been Getting Things Done

As you know we are down at our home in Florida for three months. I have never had to worry much about what we did while we were down here, but now I need to find exercise classes for us. Yesterday, we took a tour of the YMCA. It is a very nice place, it has a heated outdoor pool, heated to 83 degrees. We are used to a warmer pool than that and indoors but we will adjust. Our Silver Sneakers will cover the membership and all the classes we want to take which is great. The problem is that it is 13 miles away. I also contacted the person in charge of the exercise program at our pools here at the resort we live in. Spots are given out on a lottery system so we will know on the 18th if we get in. We can however, only take 1 class per week. Better one than none I figure. We also joined the golf club here at the resort. No, we don't golf, I bought a social membership so that we can dine at the club house. They have special dinners, steak nights etc that hubs will love. We got together with Al's brother and his wife yesterday for cards and Wednesday we had cake and coffee with another one of our neighbors. It was a lovely evening. So we are settling in now, Al had been raking leaves and I have been organizing things and getting rid of more of the things that were in the house when we bought it. lol It is starting to feel like home!!

Glad you are finally settling in. We are well settled now and are enjoying life. Friends are back, my brother and sis in law are here, and my calendar is filled through the end of February. That only leaves March, and I don't want to think about returning home!

@DianneN Jeff Moffitt, Jean Baney and we are waiting on Paintsonslate and I need to contact Nancy Zink to find out if she wants to come this way. I think it is probably more than 4 hours. Jeff is in Gainesville I am in Ocala and Jean is in Hudson so we need to find some place in-between.

@BelleStarr I assume the myLot get together is up near you? That would be a good 3+ hours from me. I think I'm closer to you in CT. Wish I could be there. Who's coming?

@LadyDuck No, we will never do that. Our children and grandchildren are in Connecticut and they are more important to me than anything else. But I do love having a few months of warmth.

Thank you, I don't mind 13 miles but this is 13 miles of ugly city traffic and I can't see any way to avoid most of it.

@AbbyGreenhill This is three lanes each way of steady crazy traffic and I hate it, at home we live in the country and really our home here is off the main drag but we need to take it to get anywhere.

@BelleStarr ugly city driving is much worse than ugly country driving. We get to our shopping an hour away w/o a traffic light!

Sounds like your Florida home is becoming "your" home now. Enjoy your time there while the rest of us Northerners are dealing with snow & ice

We hope to pick up our new caravan today and I think it will come with quite a few bits and pieces in it too. I'll need to decide if I want to keep the items or not.

I wish I could afford a place near a beach just so I could spend time near water, oh well, it'll rain here again.

That's not too bad @BelleStarr at least when the beach is over running with people you don't have to put up with them.

Yes it is nice to have our own things rather than being in a rental house or a hotel but it is still strange for a little while.

It isn't too much colder in Mississippi, is it? Though it is unseasonably warm here at least 5 to 10 degrees higher than normal.
