The Bus to the Rescue

The stuff is all hitting the fan at the moment. If you don't know the saying, it means things are going a bit skewiff/pie-eyed/wrong. We haven't been able to get the BMW fixed so we have no brake lights and no electric brakes so we can't get our new caravan at the moment. The other big problem is that we need to take the big car trailer out to the church. It is loaded with a generator, a very long pole which will hold two lights, a couple of ladders and a few other bits and pieces. The trailer is too heavy to be safe for my little car so it is the bus to the rescue. Later this afternoon, we'll take the bus and car trailer out to the church. There is no electricity (so no lights) and no water at the church. We'll set up the lights and test them, sleep the night in the bus then come home early tomorrow. I was trying to wrangle a night in the bus at this little church but I would have hoped it would have been under different circumstances. But never mind. We're very lucky to have an option which will enable us to go ahead with our plans. I wonder what tomorrow will bring? It will bring the concert that's for sure. And I'll be missing from time to time so take care, especially those coping with ice and snow.

Glad to hear the bus was there to the rescue. I am just still stranded on this cotton picking hill top in the snow and, ice.

And if you go down that cotton-picking hill, you may not get up it again!

It is long isn't it? Behind the bus, the whole outfit becomes very long indeed. I need a cut lunch to walk to the back of it to help Vince back in to wherever he is trying to put it.

Oh, so all this moving things is because you are setting up for a concert? That is interesting, because our pastors brought up inviting this singer to have a concert and how many were committed to help set it up. It will be sometime this summer if all goes well .

This little church has been decommissioned and the owner asked us to help him run a concert there. We have house concerts on the lawn here in summer and perhaps one in the lounge each winter but this time we're doing it in collaboration.

@JudyEv Since the church has been decommissioned, is this why there is no electricity or water there? I thought it kind of unusual to hear of a place of worship that had no electricity or water. I hope everything went well for you at your concert!

Things may not work out currently but tough times don't last, tough people do.

@JudyEv just barely is fine as long as you make it through. Things will even out eventually.

@JudyEv I guess when you travel around a lot the chances of plans going astray are higher.

We're lucky to have options. We could have used the Hyundai but it would have been overweight for it and illegal I think. We only had about 20 miles to travel.

Thanks. The musicians and two friends should all arrive in a few hours then things will start to hum. There is a sort of 'calm before the storm' period at the moment.
