I Get To Take a Shower This Morning!!!

Now this might seem like a bizarre thing to be announcing, but since my Dermatologist visit, I have been able to get the incision wet. Today I can. At least he said I could. I saw the incision for the first time last night and it is ghastly! And it couldn't be in a more horrible place on the body. It's about 3 inches below my collar bone which is going to be sending me looking for a new bathing suit this year. The cause was a cyst that began to grow about 5 years ago. I decided this year that I just didn't want to look at it any longer. It had grown to about an inch in diameter which doesn't sound all that big, but when it is in a spot where you really don't want it to be... it's horrible! The bad thing about it is that it is genetic. My son has already had one removed about ten years ago. Anyway, I get to take a shower this morning and I'm hoping that when I get out of the shower... it doesn't quite look as bad as it did last night. Eight stitches is going to make for a long scar. :(

So sorry about that, they have scar cream you can use to reduce the red look.

Don't fret about the scar! I have a few on my body that will never go away. I call them character marks. Big hugs to you!

It is amazing what we are grateful for when we don't have it anymore. I know without a doubt I would miss showers if I had to go more than a day without one. I am kind of addicted to a daily shower.

I thought that nowadays stitches don't leave a scar? I had an op on my hand a couple of years ago involving quite a few stitches, and I don't have any scarring.
