"I'm Paranoid"

A person in my Kik group addresses to the group, "Can we not talk about the inauguration? It is making me paranoid." I'm sorry...I didn't know that 43 people had to go with whatever you say. You are not even an admin girly....I am. We carried on a different conversation because they had a concern about an infected piercing. Do parents not teach kids how to clean wounds and such anymore? This girl had no idea what antibiotics meant or peroxide...EVERY kid has had to meet the fate of peroxide. Unless your parents clean with something else, but I know schools don't...That is for another post at another time. It just makes me upset when people go, "I don't want to talk about (unfortunate event)" because it makes them feel uncomfortable. Sweetheart, you are old enough to know what is going on and you are not the ONLY person this is effecting. The day after the election a girl in the group goes, "I just want to sit in my bed and cry because I cannot believe what happened." BOO HOO holy cow, yeah I am pissed off that this is happening and this is why I am trying to talk to people and teach then Right from Wrong instead of these dated stupid political parties that are SO NOT NEEDED ANYMORE. I never lived a sheltered life. When 9/11 happened, I was 6 years old, I was watching it on the TV and my mom explained to me what was happening. Many kids at school had no idea. The principle even said to parents to not talk about it because kids cannot understand what is going on. The same thing happened a year before that when a kid brought a gun to school. "oh don't tell your kids that THEY COULD HAVE DIED" No...No...Stop living so sheltered! This is the stuff that effects everyone! We hide from the thought of death, the thought of us being wrong, and we fear...we fear so much. I cannot believe these kids, even people my age and older than me are choosing to not listen to "Bad news" because it makes them upset. It is not all about you, bad news is told so we can fix the problems. Not ignore it. This is why the world is turning into so much hate, because people choose to ignore and not learn. You can fear, you can be afraid of what is to come, what is lurking around the corner, but learn why it is happening. Learn both sides before you ignore whatever you do not want to know. Stop hating and not being sheltered because you are too paranoid to understand what is going on. Educate yourself, and learn how to be proactive without hate.

Living in ignorance is not good when the thing we are hiding from is effecting us.

@celticeagle Not at all. It just makes the world look more scary instead of being able to see the good in life.

It is! It is healthier, ignorance is not a good state of mind to live in.

@DesirousDreamer I try not to be ignorant. On the other hand there are some things I don't want to know about.

@just4him I like learning everything even if it is something that is just...gross and might make me sick. Curiosity hasn't killed this cat yet.

Amen to that! Ignorance and dependency feed off of each other and produce emotional cripples who don't know how to deal with the real world.

The world is the way it is because people are scared and they are ignorance and all they want to do is cower in their beds. I don't care how young a person is, they need to learn. I wasn't sheltered as a child and that made me face this world with more ease than most.

I've dealt with this on a personal level, as people in my family don't usually like to talk about when they are sick. I was the very last person in my family to find out that my mom had cancer, and then years later, that my DAD had cancer. And I just recently found out that one of my cousins is dying, even though her Facebook posts are all innocent and happy. If another cousin hadn't told me, I would have never known :(

I am so sorry about all of that. My family is not really life that because most of my family likes to make each other feel sorry for each other. It is kind of ridiculous. But it is also mostly for people to start dividing the wills before the person actually passes...this has happened a few times. Ugh.
