One Year on From joining Mylot
January 21, 2017 1:02am CST
I hadn't heard of mylot until I received an email from @Garymarsh6. He had been on the now defunct infamous B site at the same time I was. On the 21st January 2016 I took the plunge and joined. I found other members I already knew who had also migrated from the other site. Due to enforced time away from mylot, (I have already written about my absence on several occasions), I spent a lot of time feeling like a newbie. Not so anymore and I finally feel like a fully fledged member. I have met many more people who have been so welcoming. It is a great community to be part off and I enjoy the wealth of posts written by other users. Thank you Gary for introducing me to the site. Have a brilliant weekend everybody.

Thanks to dear @Jabo, I, too, came here in September of 2015, but really didn't become active until last January. I like to think of Gary as a good friend, too. It's amazing how you find out who your true friends are when one site is shutting down. Lol!

I originally joined Mylot over 10 years ago, but after the earnings system was cancelled the site became quiet and changed drastically. Eventually I ceased using Mylot and joined Bubblews, as did many others. I returned after Bubblews collapsed and much of the membership migrated here.
One year of being a member does make you a full pledge member and no longer a newbie especially if you were actively participating. Most of the old members here I know with the exception of a few like JJ, would just normally comment and interact a lot on other people's discussion and would just write about 2-4 discussions in a month, sometimes less or sometimes none. And yet these members reach payout every single month. The members who came from bubblews and saw mylot only when bubblews disappeared are the ones who really write a lot, i noticed. But not all I think are like that. For some reason I could easily tell when a member came from bubblews.

I am glad you took to Mylot. I was given the thumbs up from @LadyDuck (Anna) It was nice to get in touch with familiar friends I had made on the B site. I am glad you have stuck it. It was quite exciting to see names I already knew when I first came over. I think with mylot there is no pressure to write. There are certainly less spammers on here. The filtering must be far superior. It is a great community site. Congratulations for your first year and hopefully this will continue for many more years to come!

I joined just before the demise of the B site and feel as you do that myLot is a great site and filled with so many wonderful people who also came from the other site or were just waiting for my arrival to make new friends. There is a wealth of information regarding so many issues, culture, cuisine, hobbies, relationships, health, and beauty - you name it. We have it all here, just waiting to explore and make new friends.
It is definitely a more friendly and fun site than the defunct one. Part of the charm is because people are not focused on earning here. There people were churning out stuff that would earn monies. So it was more of a writing for the sake of writing than for the love of writing and same with interactions. I do miss some of my friends from there though.
