Ayodya called me last night. At that time I was on the bed as I was injured. She is my best friend. She already has 3 kids and the little one is still 6 months old. She called me to tell that she is pregnant again. But it was an unexpected pregnancy. They have used some proctections, but somehow this has happend.. She is now 4 weeks pregnant and they are planning for a medical abortion. Since abortion is illegal in my country, they have to find some illegal place to get the pills. Somehow thay have find misoprostol tablets from a pharmacy. But now she is afraid to take it. Asking me for an advice... I dont know what to say... Im confuced...

@amandajay Ask her to consult doctor before taking tablets or taking any step because her life is also very important because she had three kids.

There are options. At least here in america right now. But abortion is not the only thing she can do. She can give the child up for adoption or just have the baby and get her tubes tied. This is a hard one to advise anyone on. After all, it all comes down to the woman's choice.

I'm like you. I wouldn't know what to say, other than to offer my support to my friend regardless of what she chooses . Three children and the youngest one still an infant—that's got to be tough financially as well as emotionally. On the other hand...

@amandajay I think if she were my friend, that is precisely what I would say. I couldn't help her beyond that. No decision will be a happy one. I just hope whatever she decides, it's one she and her husband can accept.

No matter what others can suggest, it is too personal decision and I think she needs to take the decision without any influence, and whatever decision needs to be taken, she must not feel guilty.

@amandajay Am sure this must have been a hard decision on her part, its important that she is not made feel guilty and she does not stay with this emotional baggage for too long. Need to be careful next time.

How are you injured? I know abortion is not good, but i feel its better than giving your kids a miserable life. If you can't keep your babies properly, no use having many of them. You should stand by your friend in whatever she decide. But you must suggest her to be very careful not to get pregnant if she doesn't want a kid anymore.

That's a tough choice, but only she can make the choice as she has to live with it. I'd be very worried about doing it that way since it's not safe, and as far as I'm aware, pills are not enough. She'd need a D&C after to ensure she doesn't get an infection or some other type of illness/injury in her uterus. I hope it all works out for the best!

Hey it is not hard to give advise. Abortion is a sin that God wrath will surely pour out to that house. Come on. They can get support if they only know how to pray and trust God with everything they are in. Let the baby live. I hope this is not late. I never saw one woman who overcomes the guilt and had a proper mourn to the child that they killed themselves.

Is abortion illegal in Sri Lanka.? In India it is allowed upto 20 weeks pregnancy. If the parents are not confident of nurturing the would be child it is better to get aborted.

Yes. I made a search and got this page which says that it is illegal to abort in Sri Lanka.
Abortion is only permitted to save the life of the woman.

@ravisivan To obtain one these medicines, one could for example say that your grandmother has rheumatoid arthritis so severely that she is visiting and she forgot her medicines and is in pain, and that you do not have money to pay for a doctor to get the prescriptions for the tablets or that the doctor is on a holliday. If there are problems to get the medicine in one pharmacy, try another pharmacy, or send a male friend or partner, as they might have less problems obtaining them. Or, perhaps you can find a doctor willing to prescribe them. Usually one has more luck at the smaller pharmacies that do not belong to a large chain. Misoprostol can also be ordered over the internet (see list internet pharmacies) THIS INFO I got from the site suggesting ways to get the medicine.

I don't think it should be your burden to give an opinion on such a serious subject. I wouldn't consider that option, your friend should probably be more careful with protection.

i prefer you dont support abortion. not only that it is illegal in your country, it is unethical too. A 4month pregnancy means there is a new life, abortion is pure killing . just think of thousands of couples not lucky enough to get a single child.

There is no such abortion. If God wants that baby to be alive it will live and it will cost terrible consequence in their lives. They might give the child deformity... And the baby will feel rejected once they got born and it might brought him to anger and despised. Every child is a blessing. They should not abort the child for God will surely avenge for every unborn child. Those parents will never experience the abundance blessing of that child that they are planning to abort... Blessing that only that child can give them and none of those who they let live.
