Boil Order on our water

I am on city water. There was a water main break earlier today just down the street from where I live so there was no water all day while they worked repairing it. Now that the water is back on the water is really muddy. I have been running the water in the bathroom for the past 15 minutes and it is still muddy. I wanted to take a shower but I guess that won't happen tonight. I hope it is running clearer by the morning. We will have to boil our water until at least the weekend. I have some water here for drinking but I will have to go buy some more tomorrow.

I would just warm up a gallon of drinking water for a sink wash. I would not use that pipe water at all yet. I am sure you can carry the gallon right. I hope so. I would need my shopping cart to carry that amount of water.

How awful! I'd stay clear of it until it was clear. Pardon the pun lol. Drink and cook with bottled water only.

I would not use the water to cook or to make coffee, it's better you buy some bottled water.

It wouldn't be much fun showering in muddy water unless you were out bush and hadn't had the chance of a shower for a week.

It was clear this morning when I took a shower but I guess they have been working on it all day today again so it will probably be muddy again by the time I get back home. We will get bottled water on our way home for drinking and cooking with.

Thankfully we have a well so we do not have to deal with things like this. My parents live across the street and have town water. Anytime they flush the hydrants they get muddy undrinkable water for days. Don't drink the water even boiled if you can buy bottled water for a few days that would be better.

Hope your water clears by morning. We always buy bottled water in gallons because I'm not confident of the water coming from our city water supply. I'm sure there are plenty of leaks all around the city and when they shut down supply from midnight till 4AM, the vacuum caused be the absence of water in the pipes would surely suck dirt and bacteria into the system.
