Dinner Is The Happiest Meal At Home

Yes, it is the happiest meal at home. That’s because it’s the time when everyone is already at home. Lunch, would only be my parents-in-law and auntie, since me, hubby and brother-in-law are at work. Breakfast, some are still sleeping while I eat earlier so as not to be late at work. Even if I am dieting, just eating an apple and drinking water only for dinner , I always eat it at dinner time so I can share the stories for the day, by everybody. Even if the foods prepared are simple, eating is always fun because it’s filled with stories and laughter. What about you guys, in your house, what’s the happiest meal of the day? . Note: Picture isn't our dinner , but of the fiesta foods last August 2016

When I saw the picture first, I thought you had a huge family. Thanks for explaining that it wasn't yours.

Yes, it's also the time to talk to my children if they want to tell me something or if they have problems.

So you too there. It's usually when the family is all gathered and stories about their day being shared . Are your children also vocal of what their day was?

@louievill That is also how we were with our father. We don't open up to him , but to our mother who would just tell him. That's how afraid we are of our strict father before.

@SIMPLYD my children do not hide anything from their mother and me. At times they have a little reservation telling me so they tell it to their mother to tell to mebut these are rare occasions only. I always make it clear to them to open up and we are always there to help.

Do you all live together? I can imagine how lively it gets during dinner! Dinner is my favorite meal too, but still can't beat breakfast/brunch on weekends!

Yes. Each one has their own room. Mother-in-law , my gay brother-in-law as well as the sister of mother-in-law who retired from the US has their own rooms at the second floor. Father-in-law and hubby and I have our own bedrooms too at the ground floor. Thus , we sometimes would only see each other for those 3 of us working , after resting from work during dinner time. So, it's always a happy meal.

@sunrisefan It's not ours . It's my in-laws . But eventually, it will just be me , my husband and gay brother-in-law who will be in it . It's really a big house and we don't have a helper. We only hire a cleaner , every other week.

We call our dinners the Gathering of the Round Table - where everything and anything is discussed. We sit around the table as well for all our meals.

Yes, that's exactly what happens at dinner time . It's the time to share what happened at our works and what did the 3 old people do at the house the whole day as well as other news that are also being aired on TV while we eat and watch too .

@ridingbet You have a worrier sister. I also would not want to talk about it, unless it is something that is new and really needs attention that to be consulted to a doctor.

@SIMPLYD not all the time that we are complete, my dear. sometimes, my son goes out and he eats his lunch with his friends. but we are happiest when we 3 are together. but when my dear sister talks about the problems sh has about her health, i would just tell her that "we must talk of pleasant things while on the [dining] table".

And certainly , no one takes that much food in the evening except when it is inevitable, like that - a fiesta. You mean you take snacks in the evening and don't consider that as dinner. To me, anything that is taken after 6:00 in the evening is already dinner. In fact, I am just eating an apple and drink lots of water for dinner for thrice of four times a week. The rest, would be meal without rice.

We only get to eat at restaurants when we feel hungry after shopping or when there is an occasion. It is expensive to eat out. So having the meal at home with all the family members present can be a happy one.

@Madshadi My hubby and I would do that too, when we were just newly wed and both working. We will be already too tired to cook so we just buy foods and eat it at home. Yes, it is cheaper than eating in a restaurant indeed.

As we are at home together all the time every meal is a great moment to share. May be my favorite is breakfast, early in the morning, while it's still dark outside and everything is silent. Is a nice moment to plan our day.

That is so nice, because you two are always together in eating your meals. At breakfast, hubby and the 3 old people will still be sleeping while my gay brother-in-law and I are already taking breakfast. We go to work together, since I ride in his car up to his office, then I will get a jeepney going to the office. But at dinner time, everyone will already be at home to eat. So it's the happiest meal of the day.

Yes, even if it is you and your hubby now, it will still be a happy meal because you two eat together. No, those foods are from a picture taken during our hometown fiesta. They were all cooked by my 3 sisters and a brother-in-law. A labor of love as it is said.

I know you would say that seeing those plentiful foods. They were the foods prepared by my sisters and brother-in-law during our hometown fiesta last August 2016, as I have noted at the foot of the post. Would you believe, I tasted all those. A little of everything , but with only a very few rice. Had I been fond of rice, I am now a "Dabiana". Do you know "Dabiana"?

That is true. A meal becomes happiest when everyone in the family is present at the dining table, whether they will eat or just simply join the family while eating. The stories and laughter can also get non-stop.

There is only my fiance and I at home so either breakfast or dinner would be our happy meals. Breakfast more so on the weekend when are not both rushing out to work. It is nice to have dinner together at the end of work day and talk about how our day went. Then we get to spend the evening relaxing together.
