How come when you get a divorce you take it out on your children? When people split up with each other. The first thing that one says to the other one. Is I am not going to give you any money or anything until I have to. How come they do not think that if the other spouse is going without. The children that they have with them are going without to. It is always the children that suffer because of the hate of the two parents for each other. If the other spouse does not work and does not have any money. Than means that there is no money to take care of the kids either. No one that breaks up thinks of the kids.

Yeah it is sad how it usually goes.. I have divorced about 1 year ago but I have no kids so for me we just went different ways and there is no reason to talk to each other now.

I divorced after my children were grown and on their own. That was 10 years ago now. We both went our separate ways and I have not seen him since.

Divorce is sad, but it also isn't fair to the children to grow up in a home where the parents are constantly fighting. In some cases there is physical abuse.

@jstory07 So much better. It's no use insisting on what has already failed.

It does seem that far too many couples do not consider the welfare and feelings of the children when a divorce is in the works. Very selfish for adults to do this.

@jstory07 yes we cannot file a divorce here. It's only legal separation or annulment of marriage.

The children always suffer the most. Met a woman 40+ who told me that no matter how old you are, you always think you were the cause of the parent's divorce. How sad is that?

That is why parents should have a talk with their kids to let them know it was not them.

Yeah, sometimes it is like that. I wish that it wasnt. I pray for all the children who have to go through this.

@jstory07 I went through a divorce but must be the rare one. I paid off a debt for windows and took care of an adult child who was dealing with an addiction rather than see him homeless. My ex and I don't communicate but my boys should never feel they are in the middle.

Kind of sounds like our congress. I fully agree, the children should come first, not the other way around. Just like great leaders takes care of their people before themselves.

I can not give a concrete answer on this issue, however if two people divorce, they are no longer agree. At this point begin the controversy relating to the division of money. Sorry then, after all the children lose out!

Children should not be pawns in a divorce.
