Even though I am not a fan of the heavy metal rock and roll band Black Sabbath except for their song "I Am Iron Man" Tony Lommi who is a member of the band reported the passing of his friend and keyboardist Geoff Nichols who passed away on Saturday who passed away at age 68 due to lung cancer. Nichols performed with the heavy metal band Quartz before he replaced Ozzy Osbourne who was terminated in 1979. Osbourne replaced Nichols on the band in 1996. Nichols left Black Sabbath around 2004 when he was replaced by Adam Wakeman and Scott Warren of the rock band Dio. Even though I am not a fan of heavy metal music, the music world lost a giant in the music industry at the passing of Geoff Nichols.
