“ Oh Please, Do Not Make It Complicated “

That’s what I told our high school batchmate who is the one in-charge of the dance we will be performing since our batch is the ruby jubilarian on May this year during our the alumni homecoming. And I also jokingly told her , which is also the half-truth, that I won’t be joining the dance if the steps are many and complicated , to which everyone in the picture laughed since they too want it that way, during our gathering at Chowking last Friday night. Then, we talked about our costume which is ripped pants, sneaker and shirt with an open checkered polo. A choreographer will be hired to make and teach us the dance and we have a firm instruction that the steps be simple and not many. I think you know why already. It was again a happy gathering of our HS and elementary batchmates, but this time to finalize what will be our dances, since the US-based batchmates have their own, the Manila-based too and us Legazpi-based. We will all just unite at the stage, on its finale and us Legazpi based will be the last of the 3 groups to perform before we will all dance together. Hopefully, I will be able to memorize the dance steps still.

Oh my! I don't like those kind of steps. Actually, we will be dancing to the tune of Fame by Irene Cara , while the other group , Mama Mia and the other one I don't know. All the dances of the jubilarians are of that era. 80's ?

oh, basing from the costume that you just said, will you be dancing the hiphop, or the country music, cowboy steps? for sure that attire is not for cha cha cha or tango, or the waltz, right, my lady?

Actually, our group will be dancing Fame. The suggested attire at first was legging, over a maong short shorts , loose shirt and sneakers. I like that. But most doesn't like it, because they said good that I am sexy, but them, they were fat so their legs will look logs on leggings.

Actually, I was a good dancer in my 20's, as I was a good dancer. I can still dance well. The problem is memorizing the sequence of the steps. What is soring festival?

Oh, really. Actually, when I was in my 20's until my 30's , I am a great dancer. We always go discoing. But because I have become older, memorizing the sequence of steps is a bit difficult already.

@41CombedaleRoad Oh is that so. Indeed, here in some places, especially at the barrio, public dances of boys and girls would sometimes have rumbles.

@SIMPLYD When I was young dance halls were not the best places to be because of the tension between mods and rockers. So I was off to a bad start although we did learn the basic walz and quickstep moves in the school gym. All girls so we had to take turns in leading.

Yes. Every relative, group of friends , officemates and in any association we join, we would always have gatherings . And in every gathering, there will always be foods, be it as simple as a snack. We always are happy whenever we gather because of the jokes elicited from the conversation.

I hope so. No, that's one of the batchmates in primary grades of my batchmate in HS. I only enrolled at that school at high school, where it's exclusive for girls. But their primary grades was with boys. So, they also will join us during the homecoming.
