This step for ? The steps are in front of a stone House that over 400 year s old. This was the horse and carriage days. The step was us to help people get into the Carriage.This what the steps were use for. And they do come in different size and shape.

There were also larger steps called 'mounting blocks' which were used to help people mount their riding horses.

in the pass they might of use the same name here to since all the steps are some kind of block or brick
