Such an odd year

Centralia, Missouri

Such an odd year, temperature wise, but not that I am complaining, just commenting on it. It's almost 60 out there, in Feb. I have to wonder if the ground needs to freeze to be healthy or something. I know it is not, and has not frozen this year. It's never been cold enough long enough. This warm in Feb is just plain weird for Missouri. Honestly this warm in Texas would also be odd for this time of year. Feels like late spring outside at the moment and it's getting warmer. So..... is your weather normal (or has it been) odd or normal this year?

The weather is crazy, we have had freezing weather but only about 2 inches of snow this year...that is just crazy for Canada...Today we will have sleet and rain, I hope it waits until I get back from the Y.

Ours has been much like yours. Freezing one day and spring the next. It snowed on Easter last year.

Ours isn't normal either, although it's not been over the mid-forties yet this winter. It stayed around forty for about three weeks in January, which was strange enough. Yesterday it rained all day and there was a possibility of freezing rain, which never happened. All the water froze overnight, but it was windy last night for a while first so the wind took care of the water on the roads. Just the sidewalks and lawns have ice now and any driveways that didn't drain off. We've had cold weather intermixed with warm off and on every other week or so. Our ground has frozen once or twice, but I'm sure it's not stayed that way completely with our warmer temps once in a while. If it's that warm there are you seeing the trees budding yet? We had temps into the eighties in 2012 and it caused all our trees to get green and the fruit trees were doing nicely too. Then we got a hard frost with dipping temps and all the farmers lost their fruit crops for that year.

no budding of the trees, but, the grass is getting green, and I am surprised I am not seeing flowers peek up

@MarshaMusselman nope, but I consulted the farmers almanac, and it suggested mid to late march

@Jessicalynnt Do you know how late into the spring you could get a hard frost there? Here it's recommended to wait until after Memorial weekend before planting outside. Many don't want to wait, but usually will have to cover their plantings sometime before summer to save them all.

It has been really odd. We haven't had any freeze warnings, yesterday it was warm, today it is kind of cold. I am so confused. Grant, Arizona is already a bipolar mess, it is getting crazy haha

This is not very usual as in my impression USA is not so cold. It makes sense to me that it is Canada or Russia. The global weather has become very strange in recent years. We had a warm winter most of the time this year.

Ours has been abnormal as well. We flip flop from 30's to 70's. It was 74 degrees here today in Central NC! Global warming has a hold on us I think.

That is a lovely photo. Our local weather has been pretty normal but parts of Australia are getting really bizarre weather.

That is such a pretty picture. It has been an odd year that is for sure. Alot more snow than we are used to. Not since 1983 or so have we had such a winter. It is snowing right now. Big flakes. I just hope we don't have any flooding this year. We have definitely needed the moisture.

Well, last February was warmer than usual for us. This February, days are getting warmer, but cold winds that started around 1 month ago in January and made us see some "normal" cold January days are still keeping early mornings and late evenings for caps and good woolens.

No, our weather is not normal at all, it was 30 F last week and it was 58 yesterday and today. The wild flowers are blooming.
