Night Shift

Chuck Lumley (Henry Winkler) is a meek, mild mannered former stockbroker working overnights in the city morgue. It's nice and quiet, just the way he likes it, until his life is turned upside down by his new coworker, Bill Blazejowski (Michael Keaton,) who convinces Chuck to turn the place into a brothel in director Ron Howard's 1982 movie, Night Shift. Poor Chuck already has enough on his plate before brash, cocky "idea man" Bill disrupts his life. He is secretly in love with his neighbor Belinda (Shelley Long,) a prostitute, even though he's engaged to marry his neurotic girlfriend (Gina Hecht.) In fact, it is Chuck and Belinda's friendship that gives Chuck the idea to begin working in the sex industry ("No. Not pimps. Love brokers!") Unfortunately, the real pimps are none too pleased when they learn of this new start up business. Night Shift was a pretty damn funny movie. Winkler was able to move as far away from his Fonzie character as possible, while Keaton was hilarious in what was his first starring role. The two worked well together and more than made the movie work. Notably, the support cast includes Richard Belzer, Vincent Schiavelli, and Clint Howard. The soundtrack features songs by artists such as Rod Stewart, Al Jarreau, The Pointer Sisters, Marshall Crenshaw, Talk Talk, and Heaven 17. Night Shift is one of my favorite 80's comedies, the beginning of a string of them made by Ron Howard. I love to watch it every once in awhile, just for laughs. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

That was Michael Keaton's breakthrough movie. The one making him a star so to speak.

Oh, he went on a huge run of hilarity after this. Mr.Mom, Beetle Juice. I thought Keaton was a great Batman, but a not so great Bruce Wayne. Conversely, I thought Val Kilmer was outstanding as Bruce Wayne, but lousy as Batman. They need to find a way to combine the two!

You went in the way back machine on this one. I have heard of this movie and some of the characters, but never did see it. I guess people can watch the whole thing on Youtube, they have the whole thing.

It had some really funny scenes, like when Chuck comes in and finds Bill throwing a frat party in the morgue. Hilarious.

@teamfreak16 I know he has done panto in the UK. Not something I'd watch, but actors seem to like treading the boards
