Beautiful Today but Snow Tomorrow

United States
February 8, 2017 10:09am CST
It's a bright and sunny day here in my neck of the woods and Mother Nature not only has the sun smiling on us but the temperatures will be in the 60 degree F range for the day. It's like a taste of spring Tomorrow, however, we're getting snow and it could range from 6 to 12 inches which means a mess, shoveling and plowing. Thankfully I have snow removal in my HOA fees so I won't have to worry too much about what accumulates. So, with the spring day today and the impending snow tomorrow I figured it would be a good day to go out and run my errands. I'm staying far away from the supermarket as I'm sure it will be crowded with everyone scurrying for bread, milk and snacks. Why do people act like it's the end of the world coming when a snow storm is predicted? How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

I hope you don't get too much of that white stuff - 6 to 8 inches is a heck of a lot. It's pleasant in England today too, though it's going to get colder over the next few days.

Right now we might be looking at 12 inches but the forecast keeps changing

Hope you only get the lower amount that's predicted. I'm sitting outside on the lanai enjoying the sun and myLotting. It's going to reach 85 today. There hasn't been a cloud in the sky for weeks. I can get used to that!

@Marilynda1225 We just got off FaceTime with our younger son. He told us that it was 69 as a high today. The kitties will be in for a shock tomorrow with 1 foot of snow predicted. We have plenty of chairs here for you. Come on down before it starts snowing. We'll pick you up at the airport, too!

I enjoyed being out for most of the day and getting some much needed fresh air and sunshine. Our temperatures hit almost 70 degrees but tomorrow it will plummet to the 20's..crazy.

wet and cool. I have no idea but when someone says snow in Alabama, there is no food left on the shelf.

Well that's good to know that snowy weather predictions cause people everywhere to act like there's no tomorrow. I work in a grocery store and it's normally crazy under such circumstances too which we can almost always predict unless the forecasts change too quickly. With the way the weather has fluctuated recently I'm not sure that many people are taking to heart what's being said any more. We expected it to be nuts yesterday since we were expecting freezing rain for several hours, but it wasn't very busy at all. Interestingly enough we never did get the projected forecast either. Your weather is much nicer than what we have here. We usually get the storms a day or so before you, but I've not heard of any coming our way.

Cold and cloudy. No snow pending. I hope you got everything taken care of so you have no needs for tomorrow. Enjoy the snow.

The same thing happens here when a hurricane is expected. Supermarkets and hardware stores do their best business then.

It's cold, but unbelievably it's supposed to get to 86 degrees in a few days. Which is nuts to me. I'm freezing right now.

I haven't been outside at all but it looks really nice and all the snow that was on the ground has melted.

Everytime it is going to snow people do run to the grocery store for food even if they have plenty in their homes. I do not know why they do that. Makes no sense to me.

Ugh! Not looking forward to seeing any of that here, but we know it will happen again. And again. Isn't it fun how we are being teased with these beautiful days and then BAM! Here's some snow, ice, sleet, hail.

It's nice today if a little brisk but there is rain coming tomorrow which might put an end to our social bowls evening. This won't be a bad thing as we'll have two guests here from Taiwan.
