I rescued a lasagna

Not a full one...although I could probably make a HUGE dent in one. But I got a 'personal' sized one. I was picking up a few items at the store and all of the sudden from the corner of my ear I heard this faint call... "Michael...Michael...I want to be with you..." And I looked all around and couldn't see anyone talking to me, so I started to walk on. And again I heard it: "Michael...please...I am freezing...take me home and help me get warm" And I suddenly realized the voice was coming from the freezer section, so I walked over, and this lonely little lasagna was sitting there shivering. Well, face it...I'm a kind-hearted dude, and I hate to see anything cold like that, so I brought it home and tossed it in the microwave to warm it up. It should be ready any time now...

@JolietJake What does Joliet Jake stand for then? I thought Jake was your first name and Joliet your surname. Seems that is not the case.

@NJChicaa. . . And good lasagne tastes even better the next day - if any of it lasts that long!

Is deep fried pasta sold in Italy at all? I've never been offered any when in an Italian household. So I wouldn't know.

@sabtraversa I've been to Foggia in Apulia several times. The secondary grammar school I taught at has a partner school there. Have you ever seen the Castel di Monte?

I hadn't had any in forever, I'd looked at them before but a whole one would be too much for one person. This was just right.

I couldn't tell you how much food I've rescued over the years. I'm a walking sanctuary, a short, 223-pound walking sanctuary.

Those are handy and if you like them that is another plus. The portion control "saves your bacon" so to speak. Saves you from yourself eating way too much. I am glad you took pity on the poor lasagna.
