The fate of the stranded whales in New Zealand

Of the over 400 whales stranded overnight at the base of Farewell Spit, Golden Bay, New Zealand, 250 to 300 were already dead. It was only in the morning that revival efforts have been underway. . Lots is being done but from reports the chances of survival of the rest of the whales is bleak. Reports say, stranding of whales is common here but this was the largest ever found, many already dead. What is the reason for this regular phenomena?
Hope for the survivors of one of New Zealand's largest ever whale strandings is slowly slipping away'', with Farewell Spit a scene scattered with the distressed and dead. - New Zealand Herald

Just seen this too on the News and its so very sad. Wonder what makes them go off course like that? Has to be something. Also hoping that they can get back into the high Seas and recover. At least people are trying to help them too.

@allknowing You know I think that could be part of it and they have somehow lost their own particular Radar or maybe it gets a bit damaged and they do what they do through no fault of their own. I always try to use as less bad stuff for cleaning as I can so the water goes back to them as clean as I can imagine it.

Is the water that polluted that they cannot breathe in those waters?

That's so sad, and I don't understand what is going on. It seems many species, not just sea animals, are disappearing all at once. It's as if mass extinction is happening - it's very alarming.

@allknowing Man is certainly greedy and has overstepped his boundaries. They don't seem to realize that in the end, they are also endangering themselves in the great scheme of things.

When the bible said 'Increase and multiply' the selfish man just thought of himself and not of animals, usurping their habitats.

I hope the living ones can be helped. Did they use a sonar nearby?

That is really sad when wild animals are dying and being washed on shore and stranded.
