Fancy cupcakes

I really like cupcakes even though I haven't made or bought any for over a year. They are some of my favourite sweet treats.
Some fancier bakeries or cupcake shops charge 5$ for a single cupcake and while that is ridiculous I love trying "luxurious" treats once in a while. I tried an amazing vanilla cupcake with berry yoghurt icing and it was the best one I have ever tried so the 5 dollars wasn't a total waste of money.

Funnily enough I do not see the fascination with cupcakes. So I guess $5 is quite expensive for one. My favourite though is English doughnuts. An American company that make their ghastly nasty doughnuts are over priced over sweet and undertasting. They charge £1.20 ($1.50) for one.

I made fancy cupcakes for a fund raiser just a few years ago and couldn't believe how much people paid for each one. Yes, it was a good cause, but it was shocking to see people pay so much for one cupcake.

I have never bought one that looks as fancy as that one in the picture but I have paid close to $5 for just one.

It is funny how expensive these can be here and yet they don't taste better than the cheaper ones.
