I Need Snow

Okay, let's face it. I love winter. I love snow. I love the chill in the air and everything, excluding wind chills, about winter. Everyday I look at the forecast, my hopes of seeing a white winter dwindle. They say February is the snowiest month of winter. Show me. Now I know the east coast is being clobbered. And I know there are a lot of people wishing it would go away as they plow out from under a foot of snow. You could send it my way, I really wouldn't mind. According to statistics we've had 38" of snow since July 1st. When you consider we get a few inches, and then the next couple days later it all melted away, yeah, we might have gotten that much. Well the records say we did, and the records don't lie. Neither does my eyesight when I look out my window on grass laden lawns. Now the other side of the street has snow on their lawns. I guess it's the way the sun hits. I'm on the north side of the street, so it melts fast here. So what do I need to do? Get down on my knees and beg Mother Nature to please let it snow here? Well, consider it done. I would like to see something other than above freezing temps and clouds in the forecast for the next ten days. Not a snowflake in sight. For that matter it's not going to rain either, but it is going to be above freezing. So I need snow. However, I think I'm outnumbered by all the people here who are overjoyed by the fact we've had such a warm winter with very little snow. Usually those who are outnumbered are the losers. So I'm just going to dream of snowflakes in all sizes, snowstorm conditions that last for days and pile up to the tops of doorways, blinding blizzards that make school kids happy, and yards full of snowmen and snow angels. There hasn't been a single snowman this year. Things need to change here. I watched the weather forecast this morning and saw we got snow in Wisconsin overnight. As I watched the path of the snow, it parted on either side of Green Bay, leaving us a bare dusting while everywhere else got a good accumulation of snow. There's something inherently wrong with that picture. Okay that's been my rant against winter and Mother Nature. I want winter back. Thanks for reading.
