Swastikas painted on walls in my city, Eugene.

Last weekend in a sort of "hip" part of my town where there are some great restaurants and bars, that nasty Nazi symbol was painted on several businesses, including some owned by Jewish people. One, in particular, included the message, "We are watching you." Fliers with racist-inspired messages were put on parked cars as well. Of course, all this was done between 2 and 4 AM. Cowards due their best work in the dark. Even more alarming, there was a rash of swastikas painted on buildings and in public transportation centers in New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago. In NYC, passengers on subways joined together in cleaning its evil symbol off the walls and posters. This was a coordinated effort by racist elements in the US. I believe they are emboldened by extremists like Steve Bannon being so close to the President. Any reports of swastikas where you live? I have read that it happened in the New York metro and the commuters have deleted them. We are lucky, no swastikas here.

@JamesHxstatic This is a dangerous trend and it proves that what I said about some similarities of Trump with Hitler are not so wrong.

Good point about cowards. I haven't heard of any such like here. I saw this near my house while cycling, but it was quickly painted over.

One of the business owners here, would not talk to reporters. He "feared retaliation." That is very sad to read.

Scary what goes on while we sleep isn't it? So sorry to hear this. Steve Bannon is a weird human being. He has been so quiet I am wondering about him.

In Spokane there was a swastika drawn on the Republican local office with a message akin to, "You're nothing but a bunch of dirty Nazis!"

i don't get out but this is another ploy to get people to go against the president because it always seems lately every president has big problem with prejudiced just for being elected. as if he isn't handed enough to deal with. what with terrorist threats and all

I think that these people are encouraged by the election of a right wing President and by his ultra conservative appointments. Steve Bannon is a danger to democracy.

@JamesHxstatic (11682) I think the vast majority of people would be enraged by their abominable act.The reason why nazi ghost lingers on is that the racism has reared its ugly head.

That's very sad. In this day and age, when people are suppose to unite, living and let others live, there seem to be a lot of hatred and contempt due to politics. It's becoming personal. I hope that history will not repeat itself. Where I live in Australia, it's pretty peaceful, its a multicultural place and people respect the differences and are tolerant. I hope that things will get get better at your place.

No, not yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. I have seen one, as well as the SS symbol on a bike path that I ride, though. Really? A bike path?

We are lucky that we don't have any swastika signs here in England. We visited Berlin in the summer of 2017 and it was hard to leave because train lines were being set on fire. We managed to reach Hamburg in the late evening. We saw some swastika signs in Mumbai and we wondered what was going on. I am pleased the people in New York cleaned off these signs. I like Jewish people and hope they stay safe.

@JamesHxstatic - How horrible. There have been some instances in Los Angeles, but not around where I live. I agree they are emboldened by people like Steve Bannon and Steve Miller being in Trump's inner circle. Those people creep me out.

Wow. Actually the small rural area in MN that I grew up in - I used to see such materials. At least the fliers are easily disposed of. Paint and vandal are harder issues
