Eight down, two to go. Making their 1st appearance in one of my music countdowns, #2 in my Favorite "Party" Songs series is "Party at Ground Zero" by Fishbone. Ska/Punk/Rock band Fishbone formed in Los Angeles in 1979, while the members were still in junior high school (!) While the band never quite hit the mainstream, they established a very large cult following among the punk and alternative kids. Fishbone has, over the years, appeared on Saturday Night Live, Monday Night RAW, the Frankie and Annette movie Back to the Beach, and members of the band were in the Eurythmics' video for the song "Would I Lie to You?" "Party at Ground Zero" is a single from their self titled 1985 EP, which the Village Voice named the 3rd best EP of the year. While the song failed to chart, the band did perform it in the 2006 slasher movie The Tripper, and to this day many still consider it Fishbone's best tune. My favorite Fishbone story? Back in the late 90's, I saw Fishbone at a day long music festival in Denver. The band played right after the punk/ska group Goldfinger, whose set was so energetic that Fishbone came out and sat at the side of the stage to watch. Duly inspired, Fishbone bassist John Norwood Fisher did a fantastic stage dive into the pit. It was hilarious! Fishbone's set, by the way, was awesome. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

@much2say - I love their lyrics. Serious, but with a warped sense of humor.

@teamfreak16 I know right? I loved the music off the bat and didn't really pay attention to what they were saying for the longest time. And when I finally read the lyrics, I was like !
