I just watched the movie The Founder. It tells the story of Ray Kroc and how he came to make McDonald's the billion dollar empire that it is. Having worked at McDonald's for many years I always knew that he acquired the restaurant from the McDonald brothers but I had no idea that he did it in the manner that he did. It was an interesting movie and I really enjoyed it but I felt sorry for the original McDonald's how Ray Kroc went about things. I worked at McDonald's for five years. Have any of you worked at McDonald's or any other fast good restaurant?

Sounds like a good movie..one I will look out for. Yes I have worked at McDonalds and actually liked it. There was always room for moving up. I learned a lot working there that I carried to other jobs.

I really liked working there too. It was over 30 years ago now but some people I worked with are still there. Whenever I am home for a visit I drop in and see the owner and the crew that is still there. It was always so much fun there and yes you learn a lot of great work ethics working there.

I never worked at a fast-food restaurant, but am aware of the story of how Ray Kroc swindled the original McDonald's owners.

My first job was at a Burger King, but I only worked there for a month. I did do 10 months at Subway. That was just a few years ago as I was trying to find full time employment after being a stay at home mom for the better part of 10 years.

They are good jobs to start out with and the hours are usually pretty flexible.

I haven't gone to see the movie, it doesn't really interest me because we've not had anyone in our family work there. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, but you have knowledge of the company that I do not.

I never worked in restaurants, but did start out in supermarkets as a kid of 14 in Texas for 40 cents per hour. Anne was a waitress for several years at an IHOP her parents opened (second franchise in California) back in the 1960s.
