Is it true that Facebook will start to charge users?

A day ago, I recieved a message from a friend who is living in the US telling e that FB was going to start to charge.
I don´t use much FB, but I fing it a shame that Fb was free for so long and now that it has so many users it will charge.
What do you know about it? Is it true?

I´m glad. Although I don´t use FB much, my eldest daughter uses it often to connect with my 2 eldest gransons who are in Europe.

This rumour has ciculated many times in the past, along with stories of Facebook releasing personal data. The site is a multi billion dollar generating business, so they are unlikely to endanger it in such a way.
Nevertheless, such rumours rapidly spread and become common knowledge.

@Asylum She is a very rational person. But still, there are some things you find at the web that are dangerous and untrue. My credit card was hacked some years ago. I was inocent and stupid. It could have been worse. Now I know what to do and I have a Bank insurance.

No I doubt it. Facebook is now part of the stock market and they sell shares, if people were charged and stopped going there the stock would hurt. People have been saying this for years. BUT they do charge for business pages.

I think this is not true.
In our country fb was about to be with free data.But it not hsppend.How can it become so that they charge for using fb.
