Do you enjoy live theater? Our sister-in-law has invited us to The Four Arts in Palm Beach, a place we have never visited. We love live theater and accepted her invitation. We will see a revival of Neil Simon's play, Last of the Red Hot Lovers. The most exciting part is that it is playing at Four Arts in Palm Beach, a place we have never been to. They are known for art, music, drama, and literature. The worst part is that my husband has to wear a jacket and tie. He is not too happy about that.

Sounds really nice! Have a great time and it is great that you are getting to go somewhere you have never been before! We don't really have places for live theater here but I have been to a few dinner theaters which I really enjoyed.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to going. I have invited my sis in law here for a light dinner before we go. Would you believe I've only been to dinner theaters in Shanghai, Ireland, places like that?

@Happy2BeMe Perhaps you have so many because you have no live theater sites. I know there is one a few towns away from us at home, but we've never gone there. They are fun!

@DianneN Oh really. We have three of them here. They do really well. It is nice that you are having your sis in law over for a light dinner before. It will be a great evening out.

I have never been to one. But it must be so nice to see something like that. Though, I don't like it because you have to dress up just to watch that.

@DianneN That's good because people nowadays are too lazy to dress up , like me.

Not all theaters require dressing up. Not even on Broadway in Manhattan or the Westend in London.

Isn't it a little too warm for jackets and ties?

That's one thing I don't have @DianneN but I'm also fairly well acclimated so the heat isn't as bothersome to me as it is to others.

Everything is air conditioned down here. My hubby cranks up the a/c as soon as he gets in the car. In fact, it was a very nice evening, weatherwise. He wears summer weight clothes. Lol!

I hope you had a good time at the play. I've heard of that one, but never had the opportunity to see it. I'm sure the tie came off as soon as possible.

The play was hilarious! My hubs looked so handsome, as did all the men, except the one who wore a polo skirt. He must have felt so out of place. As soon as we arrived home, we got ready for bed. Lol!

@just4him I'm sure she was embarrassed. I would have been, too. We were able to visit their museum, too, for no cost. Apparently, they open it for theater goers, so that was a boon. Thank you.

It was a revival of a 1960 Neil Simon play. Therefore, hilarious! All the men looked quite dapper. I loved it! They become such gentlemen when dressed up. Lol!

We stopped our subscriptions to the Longwharf and Schubert Theaters and Yale Rep. Most of the shows are when we are in FL. However, we do go to the shows when home. We even go to Goodspeed! Let me know what's playing and when you're going. Perhaps we can meet and go out for a bite!!!!

Oh well he'll have to suck it up- ha! It's way more important to get dressed up and go to see a play in a cultural centre like that- HA! You can even try to push another dinner out! LOL!

Lol! All the men and snooty women were finely turned out, except for one man in a polo shirt. He stuck out like a sore thumb. I made dinner here for my sis in law. My hubs looked very handsome.

I do enjoy live theater. While I lived in New Hampshire I was able to see a couple Summer Stock productions at the now gone Gilford Playhouse near Lake Winnipesaukee - Grease, and Godspell. I've also seen several local productions at the theater here in town. I'm thinking your husband won't mind dressing up nearly as much as he purports to. I know I fuss when coat and tie times come around, but then like the way I look and feel.

My son's fiancée is the education director at a famous theater at home. She gets to meet all the famous stars. She met Mia Farrow and Steve Martin recently. She also gets free tickets. Lucky her!
