Feeling Relaxed from Yoga class

Back from yoga and ready to have my late night dinner warming in my crockpot. I just realized I did forget two Pilates exercises on Monday's post--the bridge pose on both sides with the ring, and squeezing the ring between our legs a few times. Oh well. As for yoga class, we started with the easy sit on the mat to warm up. Then we did a left head turn and a right head turn. Then we did a left torso twist and a right torso twist. It was followed by a left arm stretch and a right arm stretch. Next up was the sun salutations in this order: mountain pose, 8 cat-cows, 1 Downward Dog, 1 walking the dog, 1 forward fold stretch, 1 shoulder stretch. Then we did the Warrior 1 with the reverse warrior pose, then the Warrior 2 pose, the left side angle pose, the triangle pose, then a lower left lunge. Then we did the warrior 1 pose and the did the Warrior 2 pose on the right side with the reverse warrior, side angle pose, triangle, then lower right lunge. Then we did a few Cat-Cows, another Downward Dog, and a forward fold with shoulder stretch. For balancing poses, we did the Tree poses on both sides (since my fall last year, I'm still having trouble balancing on my legs and need the wall), then the Gentleman's Chair pose on both sides, Chair Pose, the heroes pose, the camel pose. Then we closed it out with the knee roll (we actually roll on our backs with our knees tucked), then we did a spinal twist to the right side, then the left, then the Corpse Pose with five minutes of meditation, the In Utero Pose (roll on our left side), and then end with the easy sit with Namaste. See you tomorrow! Time to have dinner!

It was only an hour long from 6:15-7:15 PM. Go for it!

@shaggin That's understandable. You can do it at your own pace at home, even with a yoga app. 60 hour sessions are typical for gym classes.

I haven't done yoga since my kids were babies and then with the TV. I was in a lot of pain when that program was over. I haven't done it since. It sounds too painful.

Hmm. Not too painful. It helps tone your core muscles and relaxes you with meditation.

I have a book about how to do the poses but I have not found the time to actually do them.

Good start. Maybe you can try on the weekends and in the mornings with just the stretches.

Yoga is a great method to maintain flexibility. However doing the full lotus did take me some time.

I haven't yet accomplished the full lotus. I'm still in beginners level. I agree.
