He Got Down On One Knee...I said Yes!!

I have spread the news on facebook about my boyfriend, now fiance' proposing through text. Since he was out of state. When he came back. He walked in the house, told me he knows we don't have rings yet. Then dropped down to one knee and proposed. As he was holding out a necklace for me. Would it bother you if someone proposes through a text? Could you take the text serious?

Congratulations. You must be so happy now. No ring, no matter. It's the intention that counts. Nevertheless, the necklace is so beautiful.

Congrats! That's great! It wouldn't bother me if we weren't physically together at the time.

Thank you, I think the saying it is the thought that counts works in this case.

Congratulation. Texting is probably the new way of proposing, then the man don't get embarrassed if you refuse and it would be easier to refuse since you don't have to look into those tender pleading eyes of his and feel guilty. But I'm happy for you that your boyfriend still believe in the traditional way of proposing.

That is the traditional way. It does something when you can look them in the eye when they ask on one knee compared to reading it through text.

@rusty2rusty Indeed it does. Texting would be very rude.

Well, I understand that texting is very popular in our days, but a proposal is something you do in person. Congratulations, the necklace is very nice.

I agree. texting was fine to test out how I feel. Coming home and getting on one knee asking all over again with a big grin was priceless.

I would prefer one in person myself. But these days all news and important decisions are discussed via text and so I think he just couldn't wait to claim you!

Congratulations! Personally, I'd rather have an in-person proposal, but a text is also a sweet way to do it.

Proposing by a text seems to be informal and less romantic. But your boyfriend did propose to you in person when he came back. This is the most important. And it is very sweet for him to do so.

Love is love and appears in all forms, doesn't it? If this was his way or proposing, you already would know his personality and accept him as he is. Rings do not matter. Tattoo your finger. In fact, if you are ever in the area, I'll do it for you!
