Whew what a last few hours

I am sitting here on my bed and actually using something I very rarely use. I am using my tablet to mylot. I had to charge the keyboard and the tablet itself. It's not completely charged, but charged enough for the moment. I woke up and went out to eat with a family member, came home and did some more rearranging in my bedroom and am now learning about Dover Castle on netflix. I do love learning about history, and one of my favorite ways to learn is via documentaries such as this. Now for the rest of my laundry to be done and I'll be ready to completely relax for the rest of the night. Favorite History Period? Favorite Netflix Show? Favorite Hulu (If you have that) Show?

How's myLot on your tablet going? I watch comedy and romance on Netflix or Hulu, but lately I haven't been watching anything I liked.

@infatuatedbby I think I've told you before that I am not really a fan of netflix anyway. I only keep it because my family watches it. Of course right now I watch Princess Bride through netflix. You remember that movie from childhood?

You haen't been watching anything you've liked? all your boyfriend's choices? So far so good. Having a keyboard for it makes it so much easier.

We were watching a series called Reign on netflix, but I honestly don't know if it has any truth of history or if it was all made up. I just know that I want to watch the rest of the series but netflix isn't paid for right now!

I saw that but never started watching it. I watched "The Tudors" and really enjoyed it. There are several other shows like reign that I'd like to watch eventually, regardless of historical accuracy. Shows like this just make me want to research more at any rate!

Favorite history period would be the Philippine Revolution. Not really a fan of any Netflix or Hulu shows.

@allen0187 It has been many years since I was in school. However, I can remember learning more about American and British History than anything else. We did learn about the Egyptians, and some about Asia, but I can't remember learning much. It's sad that History isn't more heavily studied here.

The Phillippines isn't something America learns a lot about in schools.

We have no Netflix and no Hulu, my favorite history period is "Italian Renaissance". The era going from the 14th century until the 16th century, marking the transition between Medieval and Early Modern Europe.

Ah music and art was revolutionized in that time period. Leonardo Da Vinci and his many inventions also come to mind, though if my memory serves, his life was in the late 16th century.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452. The Renaissance was the time of great sculptors, painters. Just to mention a few, Raffaello, Michelangelo, Donatello, Botticelli. A great time for Italy. I wonder if we will have see another Renaissance.

The only reason (somecowgirl) is written is for those who remember me under that username. Horses and anything about the rodeo life is no longer (nor was it ever) something I was interested in.

I am an archeologist specialized in the Roman period. It is my favorite period since a long time, but I also like the 19th C that I find fascinating : transition to industrialization, new economic theories, new literature, acceleration of scientific and technical progress, etc.

I do remember somehow learning that you were an archaeologist though I don't think you've told me directly. The invention of technologically advanced machinery really did change everyday life for the people. More jobs were created because people were needed to oversee and help control the rapid growth of this new way to produce goods. The "classes" were developed over more during this time too, and perhaps even a wider berth was given between each working class.

I made sure I got a bigger screen so I didn't have to worry about straining my eyes.
