Gearing up for a winter storm tomorrow

Here in Minnesota we have been extremely lucky this past week with temps in the 30s-50s. In February! Finally this Friday we will be getting some snow - expected is somewhere between 6-12 inches. It is hard to deal with as its been so nice out for the last week or so. But I cant say its unexpected. We always get snow usually into March at least. I am busting out the winter boots again and put my shovel back into my trunk in case I need to shovel myself out. Hows weather in your neck of the woods? What do you do prepare for snow storms?

Long time residents of El Paso would freak if we got more than 2 inches of snow and right now none of us would even dream it would snow, we'd panic if it did.

Yes. Some states are more prepared because they deal with it more often. I think most of us in Minnesota are mainly confused because its been up to 60 these past couple of weeks.

To think that to me 60 is pretty cool @maezee we've been in the 70s recently but we've hit a cool front so now it's in the mid 60s.

Weather here has been unseasonably warm for this time of the year. I have snow melting material should the need arise as well as a power shovel. I don't use it though.

Ditto. We have not used our snow blower either. I have shoveled a few times this year though!

I saw that on the news last night...50 degrees and you have a blizzard warning. Wow. I never could understand why they built that new baseball stadium for the Twins without a roof. The same system that's giving you the snow has severe thunderstorms on tap for us. Here in Kentucky, mention Hank Snow and people run for the bread and milk. We had 16" of snow in 1994 and the entire state shut down for a week. Oy.

It has been a very different winter in North America. Some areas will get snow storms and others will not. I hope that the storm isn't too bad that you are going to get, and hopefully, it will melt if warmer air comes just after the snow falls. Its mild in our area, in the mid 60's F but that can change in a minute's time! And I fully expect a snow storm before all is said and done for the season too.

Nice. I agree - here it seems like it can change in a minute too.

The snow started here last night. We got a few inches, but it's not over until tomorrow. I'm staying inside.

I hope you stay safe. We're having good weather here in the tropics.
