Over the Rainbow to Oz

United States
February 23, 2017 12:35pm CST
When we arrived at the theater to see WICKED last night there was a huge rainbow over the theater. It really set the stage as we walked into the magical world of Oz. The show was absolutely fabulous. The costuming, stage sets and story would have been enough but the music was over the top. I can't tell you how glad I was to have done my homework and gotten familiar with the music. I was equally glad not to have looked at the story for as it unfolded last evening, I was totally engrossed and amazed at what took place. I read as many of the Oz books as I could get my hands on as a child and so all the characters and settings were familiar to me, but this story was totally new and told in such an exciting way. Tickets were twice what Cabaret were but I can see why as it was so much more elaborate. Absolutely stunning. I'm so glad I went. New Years resolution fulfilled for February. (I resolved to do a major event every month this year).

I do like to see movies that they make out of books I've read, but given the choice I prefer to be surprised.

This is the most fun I've had following a resolution. I did three big events in January!

It really set the tone! I've not seen many Broadway shows but this one was miles over the top of all I've seen.

Great rainbow capture. You didn't have time to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
