Have you ever wondered what is the importance of receiving a "LIKE"?

February 23, 2017 1:15pm CST
Every time you post a new topic here, it stays open for discussion between you (or not ) and the other members. The more comments your topic gets, the more evidence it will gain. But, where does the "like" option fit in? What is it for? Please, I ask older members to correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've come to realize... The more likes your topic gets, the faster this topic enters in the category "Top Rated Discussions" until completing 24 hours. Obviously, this is a great way to gain visibility into your topics and to realize how much you can draw the attention of other members to what you write here. Everything on this website (like on any other website) has a purpose, so... Before complaining (as I've seen many people doing this), it's best to pay attention.

I never really thought much about the Likes and assumed that they served little purpose.

I was under the impression that likes help towards gaining you some cents? Perhaps I am wrong?

Yes, everything has a purpose here but, sadly, not many seem to have grasped that and 'do their own thing' without a community spirit at all.

I use it to show acknowledgement and or appreciation to whoever I am interacting with but not necessarily liking every bit I also use it to indicate that I read your post or what you said, appreciate it but I have nothing else to add or say. I do not know how it affects us monetarily but I know it has a purpose why it is there but I do not really care

Likes are a factor in top rated and also add to the earnings of those receiving a like.

I do believe "likes" assist our earnings totals.

I found this out awhile back. I doubt any of my discussions get too far on that list.

Thank you for clearing that up. This is something I didn't know.

I think it is mostly to let the other person know you were there and you appreciate the interaction... something like being polite... :)
