Coming in at # 2 on my favorite rock songs of the 1970's series is Someday never comes, by Credence Clearwater Revival, it's one of my all time favorite songs by them, it's about Fogerty's parents getting divorced and, what his Dad said to him, when he left, then he said the same thing to his son, it's a great song though, really hits home with me and, someday never comes can mean so many things, it's all those things you wish, that probably won't happen. Check out a sample of the lyrics below. I think you will definitely feel these in your heart. First thing I remember was asking Papa why, For there were many things I didn't know. And, Daddy always smiled and, took me by the hand. Saying someday you'll understand. Well I'm here to tell you now each and, every Mother's son. That you better learn it fast, you better learn it young. Cause someday never comes. Well time and, tears went by and, I collected dust. For there were many things I didn't know. When Daddy went away, he said try to be a man. And, someday you'll understand. Some information verified at Wikipedia, it also came in at # 25 on the Billboard hot 100. I also want to give a shout out to Run through the jungle, I heard it through the grapevine and, Cotton Fields, which I forgot in the 80's series, love everyone of those songs to, plus more Credence to come in my 60's series, my all time favorite is in that one.
