Favorite R&B Songs #9 - "Have You Seen Her?"

Picking up a little momentum, we are at #9 in my Favorite 70's R&B Songs is a  fide classic, "Have You Seen Her?" by The Chi-Lites. Vocal group The Chi-Lites formed in Chicago in 1959, and despite several lineup changes (Marshall Thompson is the only original member, the others have passed away) are still going strong.  The group had eleven Top 10 R&B hits in five years, 1969 to 1974.  They are in the Rhythm and Blues Foundation, and both the Vocal Group and R&B Music Halls of Fame. From their 1971 album (For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People, "Have You Seen Her?" sold over one million copies and was certified gold. It reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as #1 on that magazine's R&B Singles chart, and #3 on the UK Singles chart. Shortly after the World Trade Center attacks, Clear Channel Communications put "Have You Seen Her?" on their Lyrically Questionable Songs list (the girl in question could have died, ya know?) Both MC Hammer (who scored a Top 10 hit in four countries,) and Doobie Brother Patrick Simmons have covered the song. What can I say?  As I stated yesterday at the beginning of this series, I have a fondness for 70's era R&B. "Have You Seen Her?" is one of the greats. (Info verified by Wikipedia)
