Good afternoon. So many Americans check emails, texts of social media constantly .If you pull out your phone while waiting for the light to change, read your email, brushing your teeth.they call this a constant checker.
This is hurting your mental health.yes it is.Not good.
These people have the highest stress levels,it should be noted for those who check their work or email on their day off.I see this every day and it is very sickening. They cannot live with their toys. This is sick. You have to admit that you have a problem and need to fixed it.time there to detox. You are the only one who can fixed this.Take a look at ti.It is going to get you sooner or later.
I have cut way,way back .Hardly look at the social media. The only place is here.
which is enough for me.I do not check it.
Are you aware of this.

I can go for a week, or two and not check email. I do not have a smart phone or time to chat on the phone. I blog on line and I come to mylot. I have also cut back and the warmer it gets the less I will be online.
I see people at their jobs on their phones while I am waiting for them to wait on me, check me out. If I ran a business like that I would not allow cell phones at all.

My husband is constantly on Facebook. He checks it on his breaks and during his lunch time too. I tell him that he needs to spend less time on it and more time in real life.

@amadeo he will be outside working on the tasks that need attention once the mud dries up. Our yard is swampy right not due to the snow melting.

The stress mostly happens because people are waiting for responses, maybe for likes, comments, emails, updates on news.
The internet is a big part of my life and I am not stressed out because I learned the "happens when it happens" to be patient and if I get no responses or whatever. It doesn't bother me.
People live in the fast lane these days and want things to happen instantaneously.

I think in France they are passing laws to stop people being bothered in their private time out of work by emails and phone calls.

I think it all depends on what your checking for. If it's information and education, then I think it could be a great stress relief, because knowledge is power. But overuse and over cheking of social media, then yes, it can be quite the headache. Moderation in all things.

No, I'm not aware of it. And I'm online all day (and don't have a job or any other responsibilities except cleaning clothes, sheets & dishes; so I'm firmly in denial of it.

I know many people who are continually checking their phones. I don't like being in the company of people like this. They make me feel like they would rather be elsewhere.
