Yesterday while at the cancer treatment center I was in the waiting room and I began to talk about the turnip greens producing now and one of the ladies there has colon cancer and we know her from the bank she worked at many years ago, said " I wish I had a good mess of fresh greens." I did not say anything cause I was not sure if they had grown enough to pick again, I had just picked and cooked them a couple days ago. So late last night I told Tony what she said and that I was going to pick her a bag full and take them with us today, its her last day for treatment. I did and the smile from her and her husband was enough to light the room, he offered to pay me but there is no way I would take money for food I grew to share in the first place. I have them out phone number and told them to keep in touch. Next week will be Tony`s last day at this center as well, I thank God! We are tired of traveling. Do you every feel like you need to share things? I am headed to walk the dogs, be back soon.

Yes, I do, especially when my garden is full of fresh products and I know we are not going to consume everything.

I think that is why God blesses us with to much, to share it.

Well, when people have cancer they do not want to eat, if someone wants to eat I have to try and get it.

It is always a great feeling to 'give' rather than 'receive', especially when it is so gratefully accepted. Well done you.

What a sweet thing to do for that woman. When I had a garden I gave away most of my veggies, we ate all we wanted and shared with friends and neighbors.

That is the Southern way. Plus it stops people from raiding your garden in the middle of the night

Glad to hear this will be your last trip next week, and hope things continue to go well. We have been known to do something like this when the need has presented itself.

If you have something to share, you are rich, in spite of what the bank might say. Yes, I share what I have often.

What you are doing gives solace to your mind as well as more importantly make the other couple feel that there is someone out there who does care about them in their times of turmoil. Which even your family is going through. Your act as a care giver is noteworthy and will help you to reduce stress. And it does create positive emotions in you. The feeling of being in the hospital atmosphere which is depressing also brightens up a bit. It also creates a sense of bonding between families who are facing similar problems. Wish both the families a speedy recovery to normalcy. To share shows your care which is very important.
