Maybe I Should Quit Twitter

As most of you know, I wasn't online yesterday because I was recovering from my root canal. Every day this month I have religiously tweeted links to blog posts, mine and others, 3-5 times a day to three different accounts. When I checked my Amazon earnings the day before my root canal, I had had only one sale all month. I just checked today, and while I was recovering, I got two sales. I still didn't earn much, but at least I made more sales. I sent out no tweets yesterday. I'm very disappointed in my Twitter results since they changed something there months ago. I see little interaction in the form of clicks on my links. I tailor each post to the account I'm posting to, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It does take me about half an hour a day to schedule the posts. I really wonder if it's worth it. I use hashtags and attach photos on most posts. I try to interact with people. I have followers. I just wonder if most of them have everything automated and never actually look at the tweets of others. What kind of experiences have you had on Twitter. Do you find it useful? Do you think it's worth the time you spend there? Do you look at what others post? Do you schedule your tweets? I use Buffer and Hootsuite, depending upon the tweet, but I try to check in live to interact when I can. How do you interact with your tweeps?

I'm on Twitter and I do like it. Back it the day, I would tweet about my posts but since I rarely write my own discussions, I mainly use Titter to be updated with my interests and news.

I use it for that, too. But most people seem to use it as a bulletin board for their links. I follow a lot of the links I see there, and drop some of my own. This week this is the only place I've written anything. I don't think non-members can see our posts here, so there's little reason to tweet our discussions. Unless I'm wrong about that. @owlwings can non-members see myLot posts?

@bagarad Anyone can view myLot posts, whether they are members or not (it's worth remembering that what you post here is PUBLIC!). They just can't interact with them in any way without signing up/in.

@owlwings So it's a way to share information, but not a way to increase earnings unless a person joins to comment, is that right? Thanks for confirming what I thought.

@changjiangzhibin89 If that's your goal and your friends are all here, that's the best solution.

I am busy with a lot of sites. I use Twitter mainly to let people know about my blog posts and to share local news.

I don't use Twitter so I can't give an opinion. It's a pity it doesn't seem to be working for you.

It's not the best place for real communication.

I have a twitter account but to be honest I rarely use it. I'll go read what others are saying but I'm just not into it. We do use it on occasion for my perk, for Purina cat food. By following them and sending out an occasional tweet I get points. We're saving to use the points on getting our girls another cat tower. They have 2 we can choose from. Good luck on your sales. Hope you get more traffic with your twitter.

I haven't tweeted yet today. Except for here, I've stayed away from the computer since Wednesday except to check my bank accounts and pay bills. I'm just not motivated to write blog posts or tweet.

There are still plenty of people there and I still keep getting new followers daily.

My experience on Twitter isn't so fruitful, progressive and promising. But I like Twitter news.My practice there is only to send tweets and nothing more. I mean interaction there is distant. Tweets aren't so close one to another as mylotters. But this is only my point of view.

It's definitely not as conducive to conversation as myLot, since messages have to be so short.

Info not care for Twitter at all. I pretty much follow only those I know in person. I share my blogs and things but I do not spend enough time there to read anything.

@bagarad No as I really do not look at the site. It is mostly just used to post things I have to for reviews and things that the sites I get the free things require me too.

I'm only on Twitter to share my Zazzle posts.. I don't look at others posts nearly enough.. it does not seem like there is enough time in the day to do all the things I should do.

Sometimes I have some good conversations with people I feel I "know" on Twitter -- people I've met there. it's rare, though.

I get better receptions on Twitter than Facebook which I had to leave since they are becoming jerks to deal with. Twitter is okay.

@Deepizzaguy That's funny. I'm about to give up on my Facebook Page, but not my account. I have lots of friends, most of whom I know, on my account.

@bagarad I am not closing the door on Facebook. I am not going to share any of my stories on their page since they are calling it "spam." They need to see their head shrinks.
