Sugar or Sweetener?

The sugar is well known worldwide, but is it possible to say the same of the sweetener (which is a kind of substitute of sugar)?
I currently use sugar, but I have already used sweetener (but I have not adapted).
How do you usually sweeten your drinks?

I do not use either very much but when I do add something it is usually sugar.

I would never use chemical sweetners they are horrible and leave a nasty taste!

@TheInvisibleMan Sometimes I drink my coffee without sweetening it.But if I sweeten it I use sugar.

I gradually cut down on sugar in my coffee until I have almost none. I don't like the aftertaste of sweeteners much.
