At what age did you learn how to swim?

I don't know if all of you here can swim, but for those who know... At what age did you learn? I started to get in touch with swimming as soon as I was 7 years old (I know, I was only a child... "blame" my parents ), and from then on I never stopped. The result: I love water!

I learned how to swim around three years and I really love to swim. I go five times a week when the pool is open.

I have been able to swim since I was 9. My dad taught me at a community pool. I am a water person too..as a matter of fact I live in a lake community!

I was eight. We did lose someone in my boot camp unit who couldn't pass the swim test (swimming is sort of important in the Navy ). I don't get to swim much anymore because of my back, but I still love water.

I don't remember. I must have been very young as I don't recall not being able to swim nor actually learning. Well, I have an inkling of a memory about using arm bands but I could already swim, I think, when we had school swimming lessons. I love water too. I've started swimming again after a couple of years of not doing it. My kids like swimming too even though the youngest can't swim. He's almost 12. My eldest had lessons when he was about 10, I think. I've always taken them when I can but never managed to actually teach them myself.

It seems I could always swim as far back as I can remember. Our Father put us into the water very young. At 12 yrs, I took proper swim lessons along with a bit of lifeguard training. Swimming is my favorite activity.

I was taught how to swim at about the age of seven also. However just the basics. I have never learned to really swim well but I enjoy going into pools and swimming a bit.

We lived a very long way from the sea and there were no swimming pools around when I was young so I never learnt to swim well.

I never really learned to swim. I really have a hard time with putting my face underwater like you're suppose to. I can get around in the water, but definately wouldn't get points for my form. I can swim underwater while holding my breath but not swimming.
