Do you make an effort to re use and repurpose things? What have some of your successes been? Last night I was looking at a Pringles can I was thinking, you know these are pretty common, and I bet people re use these for lots of things..I found a number of uses including a hot dog cooker! I think I may use mine to store pasta.

My immediate thought was you could store pasta in the so we thought along the same lines. I think I might just do that! I have made crafts out of them.

Yes, I don't need to keep pasta boxes all over the place. I love your kitty pic..I think I told you before,,he looks just like my kitty, although mine has a grey mark on his nose.

We try to re-use and re-purpose as much as possible. Not sure what particular successes we've had but here's a mat I made from the strings that hold bales of hay together. It's does the job well.

That is really pretty. I have a rug like that hanging on the wall that my grandmother made out of breadwrapppers.

@snowy22315 This one is purely to wipe your feet on. I saw a woman a few days ago using a jumbo crochet hook and using plastic shopping bags to make sleeping mats for the homeless.

I'm not very big on reusing and repurposing, it makes me start feeling like the depression Era hoarder. I'm more of a minimalist.

Repurposing things is a GREAT idea. I try to do it as often as possible. I use a lot of containers for other things. And what I can't reuse, I recycle. Have you ever seen the movie Wall-E ? Although its an animated movie for children, it has a adult theme about ruining the earth with trash and garbage. It's a very POWERFUL message.

Yeah, people are a bit too casual about recycling in this country I think..it should be mandatory..

I'd be a little leary of storing pasta in a cardboard pringles can, but there are lots of ways of reusing containers from different items that we purchase. And of course using canvas shopping bags over the plastic ones is a good idea.

It is, my trouble is remembering to bring them into the store! If I do end up with the plastic bags, I used them for trash can liners in the bathroom..

They are just containers for keeping pasta. I reuse a lot of containers and bottles for various things. I just keep them on hand and something always seem to come up where they come in handy.

Yeah, alot of people decorate the outside of them and use them for various purposes. I wish I was clever enough to think of things myself, but I had to look them up online.

Yeah, I agree, and some really fantastic things have been made out of things that would otherwise have been thrown away.

Yes, I do. Rather than buying holders or jars, I reuse big cans.

Exactly no point in buying more when you can use what you have..however, there has to be a balance..because buying is good for the economy.

I do that a lot - reuse things. I have made very attractive vases out of bottles.

Yes, I think so, some of the other uses, like storing knitting needles and so forth, I don't need to do, as I don't have any.

There are many times I have reused things and turned them into something else. For those into Crafts, Pringle cans are turned into Banks all the time, and even sold as such. When it comes to cans with lids there is no telling what your imagination can come up with.

I think they could work as a birdfeeder or watering can as well
